You guys obviously don't know Ryan at all! He isnt going to descend to earth and leave a stone tablet with the Ten Commandments of kDice. He has been wildly inconsistent in his management and moderation of the game. He doesnt want to get involved in policing the kDice community. Ryan has flip flopped on whether or not overt blatant PGAs are cheating. He has flip flopped on whther proxying is cheating. The only rules he has been consistent on are these two rules: 1) No use of x-rated avatars 2) No friendships with rnd I don't know what planet you are from, but where I live it is pretty insane to assume that Ryan is going to start managing this game well. After two years of completely inept management, why would you think otherwise? Moderators need to start doing something when people use hate or cheat. |

at 9:28 AM, Friday June 27, 2008 EDT I would rather mods be tolerant than overly restrictive and I've sent an email to mods about this.
The main goal is to stop ongoing abusive personalities. For example, flooding chat or consistent harassment. Saying something shocking after having bad luck is not a big deal. Racism isn't a problem on kdice. There's always going to be a few idiots where ever you go in life. If someone is consistently harassing you, then ask a mod to mute them. But, if you catch someone saying something bad once or twice, just avoid them. So, I prefer grun mods less rather than more. I'm more concerned that players will request someone to be modded after saying one stupid thing. Mods are not police enforcing rules. They are part of the community and adjust things when there is abuse. |

at 9:59 AM, Friday June 27, 2008 EDT Finally Ryan has descended to earth... and he's right. I like how Grun is moderating: talking, arguing and making proportionate punishment.
About PGA, the RC detector is working pretty well, don't worry leek, no one can modify significantly the outcome of a month in 10 games. Ah, and L3xy isn't playing since January (hugs Lex). Nuf. P.S.: Ryan, check your email pls. |

at 10:48 AM, Friday June 27, 2008 EDT Ryan, I really like the tolerance based concept of what the mods are doing. I ask you to consider Gruns idea of an advisor log. http://www.kdice.com/ideas/ideas/44761619.
There is growing tension between moderators and regular players. We need some kind of vague standards to ease tension. Giving the moderators room to maneuver but also giving players some idea of whats right and wrong or, after the fact, letting players know what they did wrong. Right now there have been instances where people are banned without being told why. I feel that a log like that and standards (built with flexibility) would end this debate that is going in 6 different threads. Thank You. |

at 2:07 PM, Friday June 27, 2008 EDT While I am not a "Grun is God proponet." (only because I never got to know him) I do believe his advisor log is a good compromise solution.
And I think Ryan, when items are brought to his attention, will usually do as much as he can to correct the problem. Its really good that all these people keep making it clear how upset they are: At least 10 threads in the last week about it. But its also good to see that Grun and Ryan are acknowledging that it is an issue and participating in the rather vibrant debate about it. One hopes that a good dialog will eventually lead to resolution. -Mikeypoo |

at 10:17 PM, Friday June 27, 2008 EDT Yeah Nightstalker and Bahaduras, you raise a good point. Grun is doing a great job.
Mozzer is racist and PGAs all the time. Fiero is a complete douche for trying to do any moderating. Riser never proxied. Monte couldnt sell ice to an eskimo. MadhatSam isnt aggressive. Nuflis has no friends. Diceygirl isnt a loyal ally. Wishbone isnt a funny jackass, Dasfury doesnt have good strategy. Rnd and integral and Luck couldnt win if they tried. XCRobin is the most remembered player in kdice. I was completely wrong about the need to prevent cheating and hate in kdice. Everything is just great. The games are competitive and fair. |

at 10:35 PM, Friday June 27, 2008 EDT Ok leek, so why do you criticise grun and not fiero? Grun tried and done some job (im not saying he done everything correct and that he didnt made mistakes), but what about fiero? SO leek, you say that fiero is angel mod who NEVER aimed, cheated and only does good?
