at 1:57 PM, Sunday June 29, 2008 EDT "what system do you have to keep track of repeated offenders?"
Answer: We are working on it." that's the answer i am looking for. i did keep on coming up with new ideas if you read my post carefully. at one point you said you can only ban repeated offenders. i am fine with it and i think it makes sense. but then you didn't indicate how you are keeping track. it's a logical question, right? and so i asked. and you answered. and i am satisfied. i know i annoy you. it's becasue there are shortcomings in the moderating system and you fail to acknowledge them. it's not good enough that you just say the system is new and let's give you time to work on it. what the community wants to know is WHAT are yoou working on? i wouldn't need to repeat myself if you are willing to address the issues completely, listen with an open heart, and give unbaised, fair, judgement and solution. you are a mod, people do expect these qualities from you. |

at 4:22 PM, Sunday June 29, 2008 EDT Giving an update everytime we take a step is excessive. You don't count the distance youre running a marathon in by individual steps - you count it by miles. Likewise, it is silly for advisors or Ryan to have to announce every single little step that is being taken to better the game.
Things ARE being worked on, the idea forum, the advisor blogs and so on will keep players informed. The desire for infractions to be moderated where a player calls another player a bad word - will likely never be moderated against. (keep reading) If a player chases you to the next table you go to and keeps harping crap at you, if a player spams relentlessly at a table so others cant even chat, those are the types of things you can expect moderated against immediately. Remember - you can [/mute name] someone - so it's not like things are entirely out of your control as a player. Trying to change Ryan's mindset on that wont work because the nature of what he wants for this community is simple - a relaxed atmosphere where players can goof around, play with friends and have fun -- not where everyone has to watch their mouths, not so much as say the word "damn" for fear of retribution from some advisor hiding in a dark corner, ready to slap a banning for a week. If someone annoys you, ignore the idiot. If someone persists to annoy you (cussing / name calling / sexual harassment), then contact a mod. That's the definition as close as I can do it. For now - there's stuff still being CODED into the system to help moderators out. Chill out and watch what happens in months to come. |

at 5:10 PM, Sunday June 29, 2008 EDT thanks. instead of ignoring the players, that's exactly what people need to hear - that things are being worked on and constant update. we dont need you to update every single detail, but a regular update is necessary.
it seems that you are FINALLY listening. if kdice is a retailer then the players are it's customers. the store wont survive without it's customers. |
