"Forum posts are not debates" - well, what is a forum good for if not discussion and debates? No doubt that the questioned contribution that provoked this reaction was out of line and not really adding viewpoints or arguements to a discussion, but that statement is a bit out of line, right?

That entire last comment Pursey typed made him sound like real Fucking twat.

Jesus, why can't other mods learn from jurg's example of humility? We've had a series of mods come through who treat their mod status so self-righteously and come off as pricks. There's an amazing dearth of self-awareness.

Hopefully Pursey is just having a bad day, maybe that's it.

To be fair, I am having a bad day. I've just had a shitload of emails and comments over this one minor issue which was a well-earned infraction.

I think I've done okay really, if you look at the Advisor Logs I've done very little Moderation action overall. I'm not going to be ridiculed over taking a Mod Action on someone who is a repeat offender though in multiple threads.

I accept your point with regards to the 'threat' I made, but posting the same garbage in multiple threads about the one topic - which I note has nothing to do with the person posting it - isn't conducive to a happy Pursey. Not only that, but the posts continued after I actually lifted the -post that Bivo had.

I'm fairly sure for August I did one Mod Action which was -post for Bivo which he well and truly earned. If you look at his Moderation Log which is public, it's not like he's not aware that he's on thin ice with this sort of thing.

It *does* take time to settle into a new role, and I acknowledge I'm new to the role. I'm confident I've been pretty relaxed, especially lately, with my actions though. We're all here as volunteers, there's no need to abuse us for taking a routine action in response to a non-routine user creating drama.

I'm not banning chiefKeef, I'm not banning Bivo. And Gurgi, you've played with me a plenty over the 8+ years I've been on here. I've mellowed out massively.

Before 95% of actions I take, I Speak to at least one other Moderator, whether it be the jurgmeister/King of Belgium or Ryan or whoever happens to be online on our collaborative chat.

I'm disappointed you think I've come in here to 'swing my dick around'. That wasn't my intent. I think I've made it pretty clear now why I was a bit upset about it and why the action was warranted in the first place. I even removed the -post 2 days early after discussing it with Jurgen.

I'm always available for dialogue too - [email protected] is what I check for all things kdice. I am a reasonable human, if you want to appeal something or if you think I've stepped out of line please email me. If you think I'm still not being fair, email Jurgen :) I'm here to help not to pump up my own ego. I'm very sorry if it came across this way.

Finally: I don't *need* to explain all of this but I'm doing it as a courtesy because some people I do actually respect are posting in this thread and I wanted to be clear about it.

Oh, just for Louis Cypher, I should have been more clear: The Forums aren't for debates on *moderation decisions*. You can appeal them or query them via email or contact a different Moderator / Jurgen / Ryan if still unhappy. We don't do public trials and humiliations :)

The forums *are* here for debate. That's my fault; I wasn't very clear.
