Hey guys,
Over the last few days I've had a few complaints and emails about the conduct of various players in chat and during games. I'm not wanting to go into great detail here and I don't want to have to resort to giving people -chat or -play over this. Suffice to say, it's been pretty atrocious. Try and be mindful that this is just a game, there's real people behind the keyboard on the other end and the things you say can be hurtful. Also try and remember that it IS just a game and some of the responses to you having a bad game are a little over the top. Please keep all this in mind, and consider this a general warning that I will be keeping an eye on things over the next week and I will be giving out moderation activity for a minimum of 3 days for any infractions due to it being a 'major' issue right now. I trust this general warning will suffice for it to not be a further problem. If you have any specific concerns, email [email protected] and have a chat to me. Thanks in advance! Pursey |

Seriously though, why make new rules. I think the rules we established months ago are good enough. And those were a battle but we got there eventually. |

Pursey and me indeed discussed the bivo ban (before doing it and concerning the unban). I do agree with him that bivo's countless false accusations are stupid and I want them to stop too. Sure nobody believes them but nobody would like being falsely accused (so that's the main problem with him doing it as far as I'm concerned). I did talk to bivo countless times, warned him too etc. The guy just doesn't get it. Of course there's the giant language barrier. anyway, Pursey meant well and thought a ban might get him to consider changing his habbits. It's not like he couldn't play or chat. The guy was restricted from posting in a forum that 7 to 8 people read! the truth is the guy is just delusional (bivo, not Pursey...I think :P) and he honestly believes he sees pga. It's kinda harmless and he's part of the kdice clowns like woka, sac lunch, federer. So in conclusion, Pursey meant well with the ban. He overreacted a bit maybe in the discussions here but in all fairness, it took me some time too to find he right balance in handling the Kdice community. It's not like everyone here is easy to please :) oh...did I mention [email protected]? stop wasting time here guys, click sit in |

I do think you are doing a good job as a mod. I totally agree that you have to find your way into that job and that maybe irony or sarcsm ar not matching well with the mod-position. I'd have a hard time myself controlling that. Thanks for spending the time and keep on going. I had the feeling I needed to state this so Pursey knows I'm not on any sort of vendetta versus him or something similar out of the way. Back to the topic: While I agree that there are no public trials and no need to discuss any mod decision in the forum, I disagree with the all or nothing style of your statement. In some rare cases an explanation of a decision and a discussion with the interested public is a good thing. It has happened before and I think it helps understanding things (examples would be the bans for the c-word, the n-word or the current discussion on Federer that was helpful for a while). Thus it is good to have discussions on decissions at times. Of course this does not apply to 99% of the decisions - the threads people start don't receive any attention. Awesome self-regulation there. For the few other cases, just accept the possibility of an exception (never say never). |
