One player insulted me by review in my profile.

There are a small subset of unbiased kdice players which are much less vocal than most that have a great pulse on the kdice community. As a single person, Jurg is probably the best in this regard. Most other people that claim to know what others think mainly talk about a small handful (if that, normally just 2-3 players) that happen to side with their contemporary views. And in fact, don't care enough about the "community at large" to gain their perspectives, let alone care about them enough to include it into their point of views. That leads toward contemptible comments and declarations, as evidenced as of late in the kdice threads.

"Don't get it twisted. You have addressed exactly 0 of my points here, so how are you claiming to have any kind of desire for a debate when you dodge questions and issues and just keep repeating the same meaning rhetoric?"

What did I dodge? I addressed your GAAP post and you haven't asked me anything else. If anyone is spouting meaningless rhetoric - it's you.

"There are a small subset of unbiased kdice players which are much less vocal than most that have a great pulse on the kdice community."

Who are these people and what are their opinions? Please quantify these statements. There is enough conjecture on the forums alone to support my view that there has been a lot of discontent with the new moderators and the new rule interpretations. It's all over the chat when I log in incognito as well, and not just from the usual suspects.

Prove me wrong, but I would say the general consensus is that the new moderators are running a dictatorship and for the most part people don't like it. You say you are open to feedback, but all you do is rebuff it when it comes in. You say you aren't running a dictatorship but all we hear is like it or lump it. There were no referendums about new rule interpretations so I'm not sure how you can say you are acting by majority vote from the community.

I don't see too many pat on the back threads about how much this site has improved the past two months either, so I'm just curious what the opinion of the "community at large" actually is and who it is coming from.

*puts on gameface*

GAAP was so far from meaningless rhetoric, for you to make that claim is asinine and further demonstrates your inability to make constructive (or coherent) arguments. I honestly don't know why I give you the time by responding as this seems to be your bread and butter supposition.

For the 5th time with you, what bans have I done that are in a dictatorial manner? Leave the last Gurgi issue out of this and find others. You seem to like no mods in the history of kdice, nor have you seemed to find any mods that support your line of reasoning or demeanor in kdice history. Please prove me wrong.

p.s. I like the how you bring arguments to the realm of unsophistication. I, on rare occasions, find it amusing to take it to that level.

I wasn't saying the GAAP stuff was rhetoric. You said I addressed zero of your points and dodged your questions and issues. So I said I addressed your only point (GAAP) and asked what else I had dodged, which you didn't answer.

I'm saying your whole attitude is dictatorial, not your bans. You have said it both explicitly and implicitly several times - this is how I am so you can like it or lump it. To then say you are open to feedback is completely contradictory. The while GAAP principle you brought up is fraught with danger. What you are saying is - there are no set rules only guidelines, so the goalposts can continue to shift whenever a quorum sees fit. In this scenario your quorum is 2 or more moderators. That isn't consistent with your other statement that decisions made are based on a majority vote from the community. This is the scenario I would be happy with, where the people who play the game can vote on issues and then the moderators can enforce them.

For the record I liked Madhat Sam, Verm, and don't mind Rowdy and Jurgen.

The rhetoric comment was re: your unsubstantiated claims that this small handful of people with their finger on the pulse represent the larger community and their views. Further - you haven't answered what their views are, just that they are contrary to the "contemporary" views of another small handful of people. Contemporary for what it's worth would be YOUR (ie the new mods) views since they differ to the old views and guidelines. That is in reference to the new guidelines blog which has been the cause of most of the conjecture.

If you don't / can't say who these people are or what their views are, it is just rhetoric. When I complain that lots of people are unsatisfied all you need to do is read any of these recent threads and you will see people OTHER than myself complaining.

"p.s. I like the how you bring arguments to the realm of unsophistication. I, on rare occasions, find it amusing to take it to that level."

Unnecessary and irrelevant. Your posts are full of drivel like that. This isn't the first and won't be the last time someone accuses you of not answering questions and just replying with drivel.

Without much theory involved:

If you -post for reviews out of line, those can't be altered by the person. Give them -play until the review is changed. Act upon report by the person insulted/harrassed.

The majority has voted by not leaving. The majority of players is not using the forum. The majority isn't even aware of the fact there is mods (or rules). A minority that would not reach the 5% barrier needed to qualify for congress in some countries is upset with the minor changes being inforced. This group can't and shouldn't be totally ignored as they have some quite active members that add to the traffic and gameplay. However, they shouldn't overestimate their importance as well.

That said - let's go roll some dice instead of talking about it.

Maybe Louis should be a mod. Reasonable and not condescending, would be a welcome change.

We've talked about the possibility of adding Louis Cypher (he already has mod bad luck so that's one less thing for Ryan to change).

Unfortunately it's always so hard to convince Ryan to add more mods so we would almost have to ask an inactive mod to give up his spot first.
