Probably it would be better to ban monte. He was obviously being protected in a game that I watched on the semifinals tables.

semifinals... in a tourney? the vast majority of moves in a tourney can be explained away by tourney strat.

well, one part of me is glad I had a short but good night sleep followed by a lond day at work so I missed all this drama and another part would have liked to see this with my own eyes and warned sado during that game that this would have consequences. I am pretty sure this would not have happened if I was there.

It's always hard to judge what is the right move and what is not. But from these pics, it looks pretty disgusting. Nod should never have won this game, period. I could easily blame Carrie here for clearly kissing up to nod and taking a way too easy 2nd (she looks stacked at round 8 and I would go for a cut on NOD). But this is debatable, not even close to bannable. Just playing for a safe 2nd is defendable but Carrie, you have way more skill than to just throw a win to someone. You don't have to defend your actions, they were bordeline OK and I assume the decission was influenced by you noticing how sado was throwing this game. It was mainly to illustrate the fact that there was more happening than just sado not doing his normal move.

Then there is das donating a bit of points by not flagging. Let's say harmless thingy. But all combined, it's a bit of a collective point funneling and picking a favorite for gold this month. Let's be thinking positive and asume charlies lag wasn't bombed or wasn't faked by Charlie.

anyway, I don't care enough, I just spoke my mind here, maybe it's just disappointing that this still happens but it happens. If this is the "let the top players regulate themselves" attitude (is this what you were talking about boogy?), so be it. @ crystal: yeah it's funny but actually it's not funny

With all the sympathy I have for Nodice and his qualities as a player, let me be clear. If I owned this site or if I had point reset abilities myself, I would deduct the points of this game for nod. Sure he didn't ask for all this (ok, he even did but let's believe in the jk), but I doubt he could get higher than a close to 0 points 3rd if everybody played their own best moves.

So all the other players are off the hook as far as I am concerned, but if they ever get screwed by a similar move by someone else and get stolen a place or lots of points, I am not sure if I would act on that then. If you think this is normal, this is normal if it happens to you too.

But Sado will get his ban and he better quit this game if he thinks this is the way to play it. It's 7 days minimum but I am gonna think this through and see if a longer ban is not more appriate. It's a first time offense but it has major consequences and it is a very bad example of how a gold should be decided. I don't believe in standard lengths for 1st 2nd etc offences. the punishment should fir the crime. This decided a gold without any doubt.

But congratz on gold Nodice. In your defence, I have been asking myself if I would refuse to win a lame gold like this but I honestly can't say 100% "of course not!"

I think skrum and Ryan are related, like uncle/nephew related. And Ryan lets his uncle play with the stats and have advisor status. He also tells his uncle to keep a close eye on players like monte, or rnd, and to advise when problems occur with those Khistorical targets of Ryan's ire.

p.s. I'm only playing devil's advocate in this thread and I have no intention of looking at those screen shots or contacting Ryan in any way. I haven't watched a game in months or played a game higher than the 100 tables. I'll give good odds that despite what chloe thinks, monte was probably trying to chatpwn the game in question and nodice used that (and sado's PGE intent) to gather the victory. Was it point funnelling? Absolutely. Would it have happened if monte wasn't at the table watching? Probably not. Again, this is just my guess as to what transpired. I wasn't there nor do I have any knowledge of that game outside of this thread. I'm just using my knowledge of the players involved. : )

If you didn't, i would have the idea that i lost gold over a nice/fair nod's run...
If i can runaway with a week ban i will do exactly the same cause as far as i realize; IT IS OK to cheat, to help friends, to funnel points etc...
In conclusion - I can pge any player i want eventhough he isn't playing the game by giving points/ positions to anyone that i want. hence the pge
