at 11:36 PM, Saturday December 11, 2010 EST scaramanga, if you roll a roll that is impossible to lose then neither player registers any luck, that is to say luck has nothing to do with that roll (7v1, 8v1).
As far as your second question is concerned I wondered that myself, but I think it has to do with how players tend to play. If you are unlucky and flag out after losing a lot of key rolls your luck at the end of the game is pretty low. The opposite would entail you flagging out after defending or winning a lot of key rolls, which rarely happens... thus leaving you to balance out your luck with more common place rolls. I would argue player behavior is to blame for the inequality in the deviation of luck. |

luck% only looks at roll win/loss outcome, it doesn't take into account if you win a 5v4 with 20 vs 18 or 30 vs 10 That's why me and other people repeatedly asked for an average dice rolled/dice stat. Kakku was so nice to include it in his script. avg rolled/dice is a vital measure for luck, as is a seperate avg luck% for rounds 1,2,3 combined bigger outliers on the "unlucky" side of the curve can be explained by "curses" but some will just happen because people might play less if they are unlucky (so it evens out less). Games where you have an unlucky start tend to last shorter so less rolls to average the bad luck out with; People who get lucky will not only survive longer ingame and thus make more rolls (maybe already averaging out his initial good luck%). But people with good luck have no reason to play less games, even to the contrary. So it's normal that the outliers at the "lucky" side of the curve are less pronounced. Average luck% below 46,5% over say 50+ games seems hard to explain by a bad luck streak only |
