Why isn't the Global Average Luck 50%?

I think it has to do with Neutral.

Since 8v8s and 8v1 on gray are the most common (due to the practices of suiciding and flagging out and just suiciding) these rolls have the greatest affect on gray's luck. Since 8v1s have no affect on luck it would make sense that 8v8s have the greatest affect on luck which would explain the skew in players' luck to below 50%.

i was also thinking 8v8 on people who flagged out was the most common attack on grey, thx for further confirming my hunch

now we woul just need some real data on that and we might have foun the luck drain

However.... if we assume all other rolls on players yield 50% luck on average and all you rolls on grey are 8v8s

you would have to roll 73% of you rattacks on players and 27% of your attacks on grey to end up with a 49,2% luck average

again, I hate this mistery!

Not really jurgen, it's just a matter of the whole of KDice rolling on gray enough. Ultimately that's what sinks everyone's averages which is why you have to look at things in the aggregate as opposed to through the individual. There are often games where everyone flags to one player and then this player eats all the grays while 2/3 duke it out.

I agree that grey is being attacked more than you would expect. But that was where I was trying to go with my reasoning and then I suddenly realised a lot of rolls on grey are + rolls so should in theory increase your luck% rather than decrease

UNLESS: Ryan programmed the greys to roll 3,7 on average to make them a bit harder to conquer, then you could end up with 49,2% luck on average :-)

Okay well just to be clear I was saying that, excluding tournaments, the most common stack for gray to have is 1 or 8, because of the typical behavior of players (suiciding and flagging out after the fighting is done/stacking for dom).

i wonder what your luck is recorded as if you flag out before you attack or defend any rolls.

Who cares?
As far as I'm concerned, my luck is 50%, like the flip of coin. I roll on something, and I either win it or lose it.
