Every time I read about them and their policies, I wonder how people can even consider voting for them.
Am I right when I believe that they hate pretty much everything that's not white, male, straight, married, and rich? Also: what's the point of their obsession with God and religion? I don't think that religion should play a role in politics at all. And I think it's dangerous if politicians from the (still) most powerful country base their decisions on an ancient book. Do Tea Party candidates still live in the Dark Ages? But what I really want to know now: Why do so many Americans actually want to vote for those hateful people? Apart from the fact that I would (most likely) always vote for a democratic candidate, it would be still better to vote for a more moderate repuclican than for a Tea Party candidate. Comments from Americans (Thrax included ;-)) would be appreciated. |

at 10:41 PM, Tuesday October 26, 2010 EDT I'm fine with cutting defense spending. I'm fine with cutting any spending. Just don't jack my taxes with making some sacrifices of your own.
Does that mean I don't think Bush was justified in invading Iraq? No... Does that mean we shouldn't continue fighting in Afghanistan? No... Making cuts is tough and unless we are going to downsize the military (with no jobs available back home) there is no easy option there. Which would you rather do, tell a soldier he's out of a job or cut entitlements to the poor? |

at 10:57 PM, Tuesday October 26, 2010 EDT sidenote: HOLY SHIT WE NEED A BETTER EDUCATION SYSTEM
Being on the teacher side of the american education system has opened my eyes because the education system we have in place right now (or at least the education system in texas) is so ass-backwards. For example what most of the school are doing right now is getting rid of veteran teachers (the ones you have to pay more) and replacing them with new teachers and curriculum developers. Now you might be asking yourself: what is a curriculum developer? Long story short: they are someone who knows nothing about your subject, but insists that they know how to teach it better. I mean this isn't really that large of a problem, its just that in a school system the brunt of the bureaucracy's weight lands directly on the teachers shoulders. The bigger problem is that the children are so unbelievably dumb, and they are content to wallow in their stupidity instead of trying to better themselves. Yes that could be a cultural problem and not an education problem, but the point is that the school should be a place of knowledge and exploration, not a place of coddling and babysitting. Unfortunately, the American education system is leaning heavily toward the latter. Everyone is told that their child is special and that there will be 'no child left behind,' but the harsh fucking reality that the bureaucracy and the parents dont want to realize is that teaching to the middle of the pack harms the intellectual development of the smarter children. ok, time to get off of my soapbox |

So end medicare, but continue to subsidize pharmaceutical companies? It isn't just giving benefits to the poor, which to an extent I support, it is the corporate welfare as well that does more to limit our freedoms and liberties than the socialist bogeymen you see everywhere. I hate lazy poor people just as much as the next middle class white person, but many of the people that benefit from these programs aren't lazy and maybe should get some help. Also I am pretty sure Obama cut your taxes Rob ;-) |

at 11:07 PM, Tuesday October 26, 2010 EDT Goooooooooood thrax, you cant actually believe half the the garbage you spew, or at least I hope you dont. Homosexuality, bisexuality and sexual deviancy are not something that is a solely human behavior, and there is a gene that makes species more prone to homosexual behavior. Once we reach this point is where people start to walk back and forth over the line of natural behavior and learned behavior.
point is: its genetic (more than likely), its natural, and most importantly: it is a sacred bond between two individuals who care deeply for each other. |

If by all that money you mean the money the government has already collected, then I'm sure somebody can figure out a way to put it back into the economy in a fair manner. As far as the burden goes. Yes put it on the family and friends of the one that needs help. I have never met your grandma, and no matter how nice a person she is i dont owe her anything. So stop stealing money from me to give to her. I had an uncle that lost his job because he is an incompetent moron (optical engineer). The rest of my family helped him in whatever small way that they could, but after a year of him sitting around the house complaining about how hard it is to get a job, we all stopped helping him. Tough shit for him. But you know what else. I am a full time student that works 30 hours a week in addition to school. His check from uncle sam is more then i get and he sis around on his lazy ass all day. That is fucking bullshit anyway you slice it. so you know what. Fuck all the lazy incompetent retards who either got fired because they weren't worth keeping or were never hired because it wasn't a worthy investment. If you want to help them so bad, then go and give them money yourself. Don't steal it from me. Sam, I don't really support subsidizing corporate America either. It is more then capable of taking care of its self if the government would just let it. |
