Anyone can afford them if they have the CAP SPACE. It's not like the Heat will be paying their team 150 million more than some other team. If someone in basketball could spend 200 million on players, they could have Wade, Kobe, Lebron, Bosh, Stoudmire, Pierce, Nash, Howard....etc. All on the same team. Would that be fair to the lowest 20 payrolls?

point well taken, but im gonna keep retorting until we get to 100. If there's no parity in baseball, how come EVERY single season ever, the top 2 teams in each division have been different from the year before?

the lack of a salary cap doesnt ruin parity, all it does is make the players more money.

YEAH just because they got more money don't mean they play better...

Revis is hurt. Your projecting your anguish at the Ravens' loss this week onto me.

Paul, how you like these apples?

1 (1) Steelers 4-1 If a rusty Ben Roethlisberger is good for three TDs, wait until the QB gets in midseason form. (Walker)

2 (3) Jets 5-1 Rex Ryan enters the bye week with what he bragged about -- the league's best record. (Clayton)

3 (6) Patriots 4-1 Deion Branch looks as though he never left Tom Brady. It's a dangerous combo. (Clayton)

4 (2) Ravens 4-2 Road losses to New England and Cincinnati prove this team still has room to grow. (Walker)

5 (5) Colts 4-2 WR Pierre Garcon's one-handed catch vs. Washington barely outpoints DB Aaron Francisco's one-handed pick. (Kuharsky)

On a serious note though, Revis has looked far from perfect the last 2 weeks. I think Rex might be pressuring him too hard to play, when we should be looking ahead and allowing him some rest. Maybe the upcoming bye week will be all his hamstring needs.

Baseball needs a salary cap?
playoff teams were ranked 1, 4, 10, 11, 15, 19, 21, 27th in payroll.

With Rangers and Giants in World Series, it is now 100% that there will be a 9th different champion in the last 10 years.

Baseball doesn't need a salary cap, it needs a better PR team to shake off the misconception that Rob and countless other hold that says baseball is dominated by payroll
