I love Europe but as an American i have to say the USA is the best.

THE REASON -

We built a nuclear weapon and dropped it on a nation and no one really complained.

We're still having this debate...

The USA is and will be the best until the Europeans die off. The main reason is our heavy immigrant culture. We have some of the best and brightest from all over the world. Not to mention the fact that N. America is incredibly rich in natural resources and sparsely populated for the majority of the past two millenia as opposed to any other major continent.

Given the fact that Norway is much more homogeneous in climate and ethnicity, it makes complete sense why they would perform better proportionally in the Winter Olympics. We may have 300 million people but not all of them live further north than the majority of Americans.

Please, do I need to remind you all that great public pension funds are the result of failing social public policy. When you don't have enough kids or make enough in the private sector to subsidize these generous public sector goodies...you will fail.

We may have a growing gap in wealth, but at least our currency isn't failing.

And which Norwegian currency is failing?

the falling euro is totally overrated. when the euro was introduced it was at 1.20 dollars. somewhere around 2001 and 2002 it even dropped to 80 cents. the recent high of the euro (1.70) was mainly because of a weak dollar and was artificially pushed by foreign exchange dealing. the same thing is happening now vice versa, just faster. the euro will stabilize at around 1.10.

btw this low euro is a blessing for the export driven german economy.

1. first of all, i love soccer, its a great sport. so sure europe gets soccer, and america gets EVERY SINGLE OTHER SPORT YOU CAN THINK OF (except cricket because thats for fags). the best players from all over the world go to europe for the big bucks in soccer, but the best players in baseball, basketball, and hockey(as well as other sports) come here(notice i didnt include american football).

Japanese cars are incredibly reliable and have the lowest gas mileage.

The funny thing is, you are comparing a region with various completely different countries to ONE COUNTRY with much less than half the population of europe, and THE U.S. STILL WINS. mr. Kreuzfeld, that is ABSOLUTELY not true, i guarantee you right now that Americas military "equipment" is far more advanced than anything you have in Norway. Our Defense budget is close to $700 BILLION dollars(does norway even have that much money?), which accounts for ALMOST HALF of the entire world's military budget. (YES I SAID ALMOST HALF) NO ONE compares to our defense capabilities, especially not Norway (im pretty sure it would take us all of an hour to entirely wipe your country off the face of the earth, in fact, im insulted that you would even compare norways MILITARY, of all things, to ours. Not to mention, anything you do have, is probably from america (we have to do something with all those outdated used weapons... your welcome). We also invest FAR more per capita than any other country.

As far as you winning more olympics... being good at skiing doesn't make you athletic, whereas people come from all over the world to play sports here.

And as for intelligence, pretty much all of our low iq/obese people are concentrated in the mid south (im sure leek could attest to this), the rest of the country is very hot and intelligent.

It's quite amazing... when it comes to emphasising how great they are and how much they have accomplished, Americans always compare their vast country to other smaller (basically European) countries.

But as soon as people take the European Union or Europe as a continent in general to create a more objective comparison, it suddenly becomes unfair.


And that's basically the problem with you guys. SOME of you have no respect for other countries/ parts of the earth. And in my opinion that's why you are also one of the most hated nations in the world.

BUT I must still say that European cars are still by far better than American cars. Also, VW (VOLKSwagen/ literal translation: car for the people) makes cars for middle class people, so do Renault, Peugeot and Citroen.

I should also say here that I respect your country. I've been to the US twice (Seattle, WA and NY) and I liked it there. However, I don't see what's the obsession with that exaggerrated patriotism, since there is no reason for it. What's even worse is that some of you always try to discredit other nations/ cultures. lets see, as you might not know in NATO different nations get lisenced to produce different things (in general) and then sell to all of nato.

a few norwegian produced weapons are so heavily used in the us army that the norwegian company had to set up factories in the US to be able to sell as much to the US army as they demand.
a few examples are
Protector M151, this is the turret that us army is in the prosess of putting on all their vihicles, like abrahms and styker. It is remote controlled so that the gunner is not exposed to snipers.

Penguin AGM-119, is the principle seatarget shortrange missile used by the US.

NASAMS is an anti air gun, that us has used to protect the white house since 2005.

Joint Strike Missile is the multirole missile that us will put inside the new f-35 (2011)

the types of equipment the norwegian army uses (don't need all the types since it is an army for defence, not offence) we do get the newest weapons, not outdated as you claim. we are a part of the development of JSF and will get the same planes as the us army. we have chosen to go with Leo 2, which is by many concidered to be better than the abrahms.

of course US would wipe norway out in 24 -48 hours. what I said is that per capita it is an army that is as good as the US, esspecially in winter conditions.
