so basicly if foregin countries will insist US will have to return all debt and gold reserves of US already reduced pretty badly (to those who dont understand macro economy i will try to simplify it) all countries have their own curency, so since their curency are diferent they have to had common mesure, that is gold. Basicly, if you have 100kg of gold and 100 $ then one $ is worth 1kg of gold (pretty valuable) for last 10 years china gathered so many dollars and forced US to print more that if China and OPEC release all the dolars in their possesion dollar would devalve several times and US would fall apart without single bullet. EVERY nation on Earth does what the US does. The reason it seems so much bigger coming from the US is because we are bigger... bigger economy, bigger cultural influence, etc. etc. It's not right, it's not wrong, it just IS. It's the world of politics.

If anything, folks seem to never get that while we are on top, we have been waaaaay more gentle with our power than previous super powers. Look what the ones before us and the Soviets did... I never said that the US couldn't militarily defeat Russia in a conventional war but we would never conquer Russia so what would be the point? We beat the Iraqi army and suffered 10 losses and then lost over 5 thousand during the occupation. We never lost a battle in Vietnam either but the war was still considered a loss. There is much more involved with victory than purely the battlefield.

If we went to war with Russia we would have to conscript to win. Our volunteer army only works in small combat rolls.

Putin might not be a fan of democracy and may fail to abide by the rules of the international community but he's a shrewd politician.

In Ukraine, he has employed every trick in the book to maintain plausible deniability and divide American allies in Europe. Granted, most of them condemns Russia over the atrocities in Ukraine. But the economic sanctions have already proven unpopular with some of the business players in Germany and some lesser allies in Central Europe. They might have agreed that these measures were necessary, but some of them, including Germany still oppose American plans to provide arms and equipment to Ukraine. How many of them would wholeheartedly support direct American intervention against Russia?

Not too many. And as soon as the first body bags would return home to the US, even the American public would question whether such a war was really a necessity. In Russia the people are willing to endure the hardships brought on by the war because they are proud and grateful that Putin could retake Crimea that was given away by the damned Ukrainian First Secretary of the USSR. exactly my point flags... NATO wont chalenge seriously any country with nuclear weapons. They dont want to make serious chalenge with north korea wich have them like 10 and they wont chalenge russia for sure cause russia have so many nuclear heads that you can buy them in the store next to your house... no matter what side would lose convencional war it would release all nuclear weapons when they see that they will lose. Just check what countries crisis hit the most. China, Russia and India all 3 are nuclear power with over half population of earth. Those 3 combined are self suficient (russian energy natural resources and military technology) (chinese industry and mass production) (india natural resources in food, water and other necessary things). I am interested in this and study this like 15 years. They was called 'asian sleeping tigers' 20 years ago cause it was clear with so many population and natural resources they just need technology to exploit them to start to overtake power. And by population and military: Chinese army have so many active soldiers as whole united states population and after mobilization they can bring almost 2 times bigger than whole US. China alone can mobilize so many soldiers as whole NATO and trust me, they dont fight with bambus sticks like on the movies... and if you add Russia and India... that is why whole Europe and North america watch them closely... Center of economical power is moving on east and far east and in the future by prediction of many people military center of power also.

And CD, are you aware that in like 70% of russia temperatures are between -10 and -60 celsius. Their army is trained for that conditions, and US army? Hitler lost war against Russia cause of winter, Napoleon occupied almost whole Russia then got frozen and fall back... Check that also and take that in the consider when you make 'calculations'. And one more thing what every army officer with expirience will tell you, for efficient attack you need odds over 3:1 cause it isnt same if you charge or fly and if you shot from bunker or launch S-300 to destroy airplane.
