Community input: let's reflect on the new moderators

We all know that Jurgen carried the can on his own for far too long so I think the decision to add two new active moderators was a good one.
We are now 1 month down the track so it's probably a good chance for some community reflection. Clearly there have been some negative posts but I'm sure there are positives too. How do you think they are travelling? What have they done well? What areas do you think need improvement? Let's bear in mind that the function of the moderators is to make the site a better place for everyone. This isn't a thread designed to just bash the new moderators either so please provide constructive feedback only. |

Their willingness to discuss and reflect. what they do has not been witnessed by me before (ofc Jurgen could not discuss the same amount than 3 of them can, but there's been other mods before and far less discussion or response). Keep up the work, don't get frustrated too easily and, most important, keep trying to adjust to what the majority (that's not the loudest group most likely) wants. Although this might mean you got to change an interpretation of a rule sometimes and what's been fine 5 years ago might be a ban now and vice versa. Good luck!
In total: this site is from my impression more alive since we got the new mods, thus they are a positive influence. |

I don't want to know anymore how much time I spent talking about bans and other stuff in my first 2 years as mod. After that, I slowly started picking my fights when they were useful enough to debate. But yeah, it's better if there are more people there to discuss with you guys. |
