I get that some of you don't see the harm of that swear word but maybe that's actually part of the problem. Without going into lengthy discussions, do you realise that over half of the women in this world still live in a place where they are oppressed or being treated as inferior to men. Only recently are small steps forward being made to do something about the rape culture in India and Africa. I could go on about forced marriage, forced female circumcisions etc but this is not the point nor the place.

Have you looked at this from a female perspective? Maybe ask tryin' or Loobee or any other female here on Kdice how THEY feel about being called c**t or seeing the word being used elsewhere. We already don't have a lot of girls playing KDice, well maybe the shitty attitude of some guys towards girls here is part of the reason?

I know there was less of a fuss about the word c**t a while ago, when int wasn't a mod yet but I also tried to keep that word away from KDice. I wasn't so strict about it maybe but when it became excessive use or was really used to hurt a person, I stepped in back then too.

So we've been over it before but it's not a new rule although I agree it's been applied a bit more strict now. I actually thought it would be easier and more clear like that so I stand behind it.

Maybe no one remembers that I actually banned Simon/Vash for using "cunt" when he lashed out at Loobee a long time ago. There have been other cases too but I can't come up with their names right now. Point is: this rule is not new.

Instead of having to enforce it by bans and threats of bans and warnings, can't we all just be normal people and forget about that word? There are plenty of other things to say

That is a ridiculously long bow to draw saying it is sexist. Is calling someone a dick sexist towards men? Is that now a ban worthy offence given it is both a swear word and also a slang word for one sex's genitalia?

As for protecting the women of this site, and loobee in particular, let's not forget that woman has as foul a mouth as anyone when it suits her. She has said disgusting things about my wife and child, so let's not use her as our measuring stick... Or for that matter, perhaps we should.

but my main issue is that mods should be up holding rules that bother the people, not what bothers them.

if we, the players, don't get offended by it then the mods shouldn't be getting butthurt. They are made mods to help when players complain. Not make new rules and make the game less fun

Dick can be used in such a hateful and attacking way that it could get warned or even banned as well.

Am I personally offended by all these words itself? Not really or better put: not in every situation. I usually ignore the use of it at first unless I see someone go all out and attack someone with so much anger/hate that it's unacceptable.

I hardly got any complaints about my chat modding in the last few years so I think I was close to a good balance and so I don't plan on changing it. And again, if you read our rules, not much has changed except the addition of 2 new mods.

What it seems like youre saying is words can be used to harass people and that's bannable.

Or words can be used out of anger to just insult someone which is fine if it's not directed at a women to purposely hurt them.

We've been over this a few times now but since I'm a patient man and you almost made me smile by agreeing with me before, one more time:

Cunt will only be an instaban if I catch someone in a very hateful rant towards someone where there's a combination of multiple offensive words.

In general, people should just avoid the word as there is a risk of it being warned or maybe even banned. But I think it's obvious no one would get a big ban right away for saying cunt just once, especially if it's in a heated discussion about game related stuff.

That being said, even in those cases warnings could be given. After a warning, you better be safe than sorry and never ever use the word again.
