New Rule by Int

He basically begged me to make this thread for him so I will.

It is now considered sexist to use the word "Cunt" in any context even if youre not insulting someone and will be banned with -chat if said.

The reason is that it's sexist to say it
and the reason that it's sexist is cause: "google it"

The reason saying dick isn't sexist but cunt is: "i dont feel like having this conversation anymore"

What is sexism? Well I spent my entire career on kdice not paying attention to anything girls said but I guess that's fine.

If someone does google sexism maybe someone can help me where it says that saying cunt is gender prejudice while calling someone a dick is just a laughable matter.

--------------------------

Int then agreed he doesn't care about sexism he just wants to ban people who use cunt.

which isn't anywhere in the rules that you can ban someone because of foul language.

I can see if it was harassing but if I lose a 4v2 roll and almost get banned for saying cunt because of it then I'd like to understand why

There is a blog about all the new rules. Players should play within the rules and moderators should moderate within the rules. If the rules are out of date they should be updated. I wouldn't imagine that is the case given they are only 3 weeks old.

Excessive Swearing/Spamming: Swear all you want, but keep it within reason. This is a passionate game and people get angry, that's fine but let's not spam the chat box... figure out another way to vent your frustration. Remember that there are younger players here.

So @ Integral - either update the blog to say the C word is now an instant ban, or shut up and stop threatening people. The idea of the blog was to make the rules more clearly defined. Don't threaten people based on your own personal bug bears. You are here to moderate on behalf of the community, not on behalf of yourself.

jurgen did basically the same thing 4 days later except he took a screen shot of me calling someone a cunt after they stole my kills that i was trying so hard to get.

the annoying part is he watched me play for 4 days waiting for me to slip up cause I questioned one of his mods

reason: cause he can and if i ever say it again it might just result in a ban

@ Thrillho:

Thx for quoting that part of the blog post, it's still up to date fyi.

Nothing is an autoban as far as I'm concerned, unless someone crosses the line so hard that a warning would simply be too light.

Yeah, more vague "rules"(I can already hear the "what's crossing the line too hard") but can we please just understand the reasoning behind it?

The goal is not to ban every single bad word or every frustrated rant but hey, the ideal KDice world would be one where not a single cunt, nigger, fag would be used. We're aiming for it, doesn't mean we can enforce it unless we're prepared to ban 25% of the players at one point. So in theory every foul word could mean a ban, in practise it won't happen. Nevertheless, we're going to keep trying to get rid of these words on KDice. If everyone makes an effort to stay away from hate speech and offensive language, this wouldn't be an issue.

Of course, if Ryan would just install a filter to remove the obvious foul words, most of this wouldn't be an issue either.

Anyway, I'm repeating myself again, trying to ask everyone for some common sense and some self-control/self-moderation to avoid foul words.

@ Gurgi:

jurgen: so Gurgi, pinky swear to not use the word cunt again?
Gurgi: sure
jurgen: cool, thanks

Not vague, contradictory.

You guys put together a 600 word post outlining the new rules so that players knew what would / wouldn't get them in trouble. Less than 3 weeks later the rules are out of date and we have moderators contradicting one another.

The blog says "Swear all you want, but keep it within reason". Jurgen says "nothing is an autoban as far as I'm concerned". Integral says all use of the C word is now an instant ban.

You should collectively make up your mind. Either update the blog to say the C word is an instant ban, or tell Integral to stop throwing his e-weight around to enforce his own personal rules.

I get it, it's vulgar. I don't care which rule we are debating I just think everyone would love some consistency.

I'm sure he would have gotten a nice warning/ban if he used that opportunity.
