Lots of "convenient" lags again

I am noticing a fair number of lags that I think are being forced by other players for tactical advantage. This isn't a new problem, but there have been times when the lag cheaters (experienced long-time players, I suspect) lay low for a while. Is Ryan or are the mods aware of this problem, and is there any interest in getting it fixed?

at 4:34 PM, Thursday September 4, 2014 EDT I know random lag and I know site-wide lag, and I am not talking about that. I am not talking about the second player often lagging in the first round, either, which is a known problem with some browsers and avoidable. I am talking about the first place player -- and not every first place player, usually one who has been on the site for a while -- suddenly lagging out moments before victory. There is often an experienced player at the table who inexplicably does not flag, hit, or lag out before the lag hits the first place player. When I have experienced this, kdice becomes unreachable, although I do not have problems reaching any other site on the internet. I have tried once or twice going to my cellular provider to see if the site is still up -- and it is, rolling along fine, just not on my account or over my IP -- I do not pretend to know the technical aspects of this.
Today, I had got the lag when in a strong first place against two experienced players moments after asking if any one was flagging. Refresh refresh, close tab, close browser, got it going again after missing 2 rounds and saw I had been hit by at least one of those players in the time I was lagging. Asked for flags again, got one, started hitting the other (very experienced and successful) player again who just sat there as I cut and cut him -- I asked him if wanted to flag, nothing -- I then joked "sorry your lag trick didn't work" and BOOM, lagged hard, no refreshing, restarting browser didn't do it, and I lagged out. Har-de-har-har U MAD SON 3L33T HAX0R troll comedy timing, not random. Not the first time, either. |
