buy a member's then...
I don't get why you can't just play the game. Or you can organize a movement/petition for change that Ryan will listen to?
To be honest I can't think of a game on the web that doesn't reward people for the money they invest in the game and gameplay...tis the way the world works now. Part of the adjustment might be playing for top 25 or top 100.

you can't complain that no one is playing if you're not playing. WELL you can complain but in my opinion it's counterintuitive

PS
Sam don't let me see you on the k-streets
I still remember...

Loki, sorry if I sound like I'm repeating myself...

"buy a member's then..."

As I already said, I don't pay for internet games.

"I don't get why you can't just play the game."

As I already said, I am hypercompetitive, and if I don't have a shot at 1st, then I don't want to waste more time getting more 3rds and 4ths.

"Or you can organize a movement/petition for change that Ryan will listen to?"

This used to work in maybe 2007. Then Ryan went schizo and decided to never ever never trust or listen to any kdicers ever again. We game-test his new systems, offer insightful suggestions, and then he either shuts us down or ignores us completely. You've got to be crazy to think Ryan listens to petitions any more.

"To be honest I can't think of a game on the web that doesn't reward people for the money they invest in the game and gameplay...tis the way the world works now."

lol, this is definitely not the way the world works. Flash games are like porn: if you are paying for it, you're doing something wrong. I don't mind if money can buy a slight advantage. But the current system (by 'current', I mean since 2009) gives the payers the complete and utter advantage. If you don't pay, you cannot place higher than a member-tourney abuser. This advantage needs to be scaled wayyyy back imo, or else you risk eroding away the bulk of your non-paying players.

"Part of the adjustment might be playing for top 25 or top 100."

As I already said, I have no interest in getting top 25 or top 100. If I feel I have a skill level that deserves a fair shot at 1st whenever I put in the time for a month, then I feel it's a waste of my time/effort if 100% of the time I have to settle for a grey png.

"you can't complain that no one is playing if you're not playing. WELL you can complain but in my opinion it's counterintuitive""

I'm not the one complaining that no one is playing. You are. I empathize with those who have left the game. Hell, I tried to keep people around here for a few years. I'm an optimist. But after 4 years of Ryan proving himself again and again, I can't fault the people who have left. In the end, I agreed with them. Barring any changes to the system, I have no interest in investing any more of my internet time in this game.

Obviously the smaller player base has lead to more stagnation of the play style, but the stagnation of the game lead to a smaller player base.

Also Loki you are kinda missing the point a little bit, it isn't that older players are complaining about not being able to adapt to the current "winning" play style, it is that the current "top" play style is mind-numbingly boring and devoid of any real strategy or challenge.

the biggest challenge to the new style of play is figuring out how to unsubscribe from your kdice membership plan on paypal
