"white privilege" is a pretty stupid phrase imho. I guess it might be because of where I grew up. It isn't about white or black or asian or hispanic anymore. It's about have and have-not. I agree with what's been said for the most part though.

White privilege is a term used by privileged whites who feel guilty or by college students and liberal arts professors to discuss socio-economic issues in the classroom. My first freshmen writing course was entirely focused on a paper called "The Possessive investment in Whiteness" while I often deride people who accuse academia of having a liberal bias, sometimes they have a point about certain subjects.

I wanted to punch an aunt of mine in the face that called MIT a liberal institution. Especially in reference to the Aerospace department. Some people just cannot properly parse an argument.

Also I am very happy and I do feel very privileged to be born a white male, plus I am 6'2" and have blue eyes. Basically most of the positive prejudicial physical characteristics that people make a first impression off of favor me. I do not feel guilty about this.

Of course not. Too often the divide between socioeconomic classes is described in terms of race, which is a an easy way to obfuscate the real underlying causes.
