Do you really think that Republicans are that different from Democrats? Obviously on the surface you have your major differences in ideology, but the fact that you support Obama so loyally and think that Republicans are so very evil makes me think you are quite ignorant. Did you not notice the whole launching 122 missiles into Libya thing? What's up with that imperialist bullshit? Oh and how bout the whole economic "stimulus" plan? Can you really argue that it was any different than Bush's bailout? Throughout his campaign, Barack emphasized how he would put the money into the hands of the people, not the other way around. What about all his talks about moving away from the heated bipartisanship and bringing about cooperation to advance our national agenda? Bottom line is that Obama is full of shit. Everything he says is a load, and if you don't see past that, you are a moron. You guys need to get over your political parties, they mean nothing. Start voting on the issues.
Anyways, I know this hasn't been the most articulate post in the world, but I'll leave with you a quote from 2007: ?The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation. History has shown us time and again, however, that military action is most successful when it is authorized and supported by the Legislative branch.? I'll let you guess who said it. |

at 9:25 AM, Tuesday March 29, 2011 EDT And my point to that, skrum, is that any time a disproof has occured, that religion either died (think Greek mythology), or it transformed to keep up with advancements in technology/scientific fact/scientific theory. Most religions are not as archaic as they were centuries ago as the churches have needed to change the theories that they preach in order to maintain interest in that particular church, which in turn gets people to come to church, which in turn gets money in the basket, which in turn allows that church to stay open and try to get more people to believe in them.
New interpretations of religion/scripture happen all the time and they'll continue to happen if those religions want to remain relevant. |

Take that to mean the love of power over others. That existed before the garden in the form of Satan and his desire to be greater than God the creator. |

Jesus clearly says; Feed the poor Love the outcasts Rich and poor are equal before God Dont hate, instead love The world will hate Christians bc the world is a fallen place, filled with sin. It is all written down my friend |

So God really did bring forth the great flood and "purge" the world? Did he kill any innocent babies in that mass murder? |

at 9:40 AM, Tuesday March 29, 2011 EDT God is testable. Like any other person that has a will, he can allow himself to be tested. I can recall two instances in scripture where God issued the challenge to test him: in the confrontation between Elijah and the Baal-worshipers on Mt. Carmel, and in Malachi chapter 3 where God asks the people to test him in regard to their offerings.
In the ordinary course of events, God might not consent to a test (for example, test for the efficacy of prayer by praying for a randomly selected set of patients in a hospital and not for the others) but ex post facto God might be testable without his express consent (measure some attribute such as recovery from disease against amount of prayer having been received). The problem with ex post facto research is the selection issue: Christian Scientists may report a high sucess rate of prayer, but members who did not have a high success rate may have already left the denomination. |

at 9:45 AM, Tuesday March 29, 2011 EDT God caused the flood in the bible bc the world was wicked beyond repair, except one; noah.
God does not commit murder bc he does not act out of hate, but instead love. Would you never punish a child bc you love it? Of course not. You punish precisely bc you love. The idea that God can be the embodiment of justice, yet would never exact any judgement is the faulty line of thought. The whole point of Jesus is that we are all sinners. Insert Jesus=Lamb=sin offering. |

That being said, holy shit are we really discussing religion? I didn't realize we were in high school again. |
