Hyped up about the new season?
Excellent acquisitions of....
Mark Reynolds (BA 0.198 last season) and
J.J. Hardy (BA 0.100 in playoffs last year) are sure to make a big splash with the orioles!
They should fit right in!

you know what this is the first time im sorta excited for an Stros season. sure my hopes will be dashed when they start off 10-34, but somehow they will get back to 500 before the year is over and will feel content about the season.

I haven't given up on them yet....I said I would by late April or early May. I'm just calling it like it's set up. Teams like the Orioles aren't meant to win under the current rules of MLB. But we've spoke about all this before...

They had a $98 million roster salary last year.......9th in the league. How is that not setup to be successful?

As I've said before, some "mid-market" teams have the opportunity to be successful for brief moments, but power teams like the Yankees and Red Sox have the ability to buy winning teams every year. And by winning team I don't mean a champion, simply a contender.

Good game last week. The refs cheated to give you a 5th down and you STILL blew it.

Is there a reason you're ranking on my teams? Should I remind you that you didn't know who Don Mattingly was?

Well, while we're ranking on teams, let's point out that the two biggest prizes in free agency this offseason chose LESS MONEY to play for someone other than the NEW YORK YANKEES.

Best Free Agent Signings Per Team:

Boston Red Sox: Carl Crawford (arguably the prize of free agency) & Victor Martinez (good hitting catcher in his prime

Philadelphia Phillies: Cliff Lee (the top pitcher in free agency)

Chicago White Sox: Adam Dunn (a slugger in his prime who consistently hits around 40 HR's/year) & Paul Konerko (last year hit .312/39/11, nuff said)

Washington Nationals: Jayson Werth (another slugger coming off the best year of his career)

NEW YORK YANKEES: Derek Jeter (just came off the worst year of his career and was bought for the bargain price of $17mil/year) & Mariano Rivera (another bargain at $15mil/year, this guy can still pitch, but he's 41 years old......gotta break down sometime)

So there we have it folks. The richest team in the land BOMBED this offseason. Good work Brian Cashman. Thanks for reaffirming to me that you are the worst GM in sports.
