Serious Question

Republicans and Democrats aren't that different, they're both deluded but in different ways. Republicans are deluded into believing or professing farces, while Democrats are deluded into believing people might act rationally. Ultimately the fortune 500 companies and the millionaires who fund our politicians have all the power and they will get what they want (Reaganomics makes no fucking sense).

So to all the diehard Republicans out there I pose you this question: Would you rather have Obama be the President for the next 6 years OR would you rather have had Bush for another two terms?

Obama just had the most successful 2 years of passing legislation in quite some time. Yet we're still at 9.8% and climbing in the unemployment rate. Obama has spent more cash than any president in human history and it hasn't helped yet. I'm sure things will turn around, but that's just the natural cycle of business. The question is how long will Obama continue to spread around entitlements to the rest of the country? Will he extend the jobless benefits YET AGAIN so people can choose to collect unemployment instead of taking a lower paying job? Go ahead, let the tax cuts expire. Let's see just how many jobs rich American business owners can ship overseas for lower wages.

And what I call a mistake is probably not what you would call a mistake......so it's quite moot to argue that point.

Oh, and I don't give a fuck if he's getting grey hair. I'm sure he's stressed to the max because he's quite honestly in over his head. He didn't have any experience before taking his position and learning on the job has been quite the adventure.

It's OK....at least Oprah and Jesse are happy. And I wonder if that one woman has had to pay her mortgage since he was elected???

My god, would you please read? I never once said I would prefer two more terms of Bush. I'm not a 'right wing fanatic' nor was I at any point disrespectful towards Obama. Stop putting words in my mouth.

I tell you what, I'll be as respectful to Obama as most of you are towards Bush. Fair enough?

@Veta. I have dyslexia. I suck shit at communicating on forums. It's been proven many times. Thrax and especially chloe have been doing a much better job than I can ever hope to achieve. I realize you may think I'm full of bs but I also have a high IQ so I'm not stupid or illiterate it takes me twice as long as everyone one else to write a reply + I need to spell check and then go over to see how many errors I can catch...I would rather let a GIRL do it for me since I have no macho ego involved in my thought process. Right is right and wrong is wrong and if a woman is right then that's 10x hotter in my book than a dumb skanky blond who can't find her ass with both hands. (not hitting on you chloe just saying the truth)

@Sam Conspiracy theories are old. The media has been a growing problem since TV came out and it's ridiculous to lay the blame at the feet of Fox. I don't even really like fox all that much, I'm just pointing out that it's foolish to blame one person. Just like it's foolish to blame Bush for all the worlds problems. It's literally impossible to go back far enough to find where this whole mess started. Pointing fingers gets you nowhere.

@Vash. If you are a polisci guy you should know that the founding fathers never wanted this country to be a true democracy. They looked at Greece and got scared with good reason. The Greeks never got anything done and were totally hobbled by infighting.

I think a great deal of our economic issues can be put on the people and their welfare mentality. But I think that the fiscally liberal method of taxing the crap out of the wealthiest people, and their tendency to like to have controls on every aspect of the market tend to hurt our economy. But chloe is doing a great job on this one so I am going to sideline myself unless i see something particularly irksome.

also I am willing to bet that Obama's greying hair is a subliminal publicity stunt. I'm sure he was dying his hair before he came into office, and i bet he just decided to stop, or something along those lines. Also Bush no more spent his first 4 years trying to get re-elected then Obama is right now. Both did/ are doing a lot of posturing and publicity stunts, and both tried/ are trying to railroad as much ill conceived and even more poorly written legislature as they can before re-election comes. I dont honestly believe that Obama gives two shits about this country or the people in it, and Bush really only gave half a shit, and he took it in Texas. Bush Sr. was the last president we had that actually cared about this country (not commenting on if he was good or bad just saying he cared)

Concerning entitlements: No, this is not the most unbiased source in the world, and no, the benefits aren't as easy to get as the article makes it seem, but this is interesting information nonetheless:

Here is just the table they show in case stuff is overlapping or something:
