I am kinda pissed because of the fact that the mods are telling random players what accounts are attached to one ip. Imo the job of a mod is to enforce the rules of this game, and not to be lame and tell to other players which alts belong to a certain main account. Its lame because it spoils the fun. Besides I wonder if its allowed to share my ip information with the community. I dont care if a mod knows where im from, but why share this information with the rest of us???? Imao the mods abuse their power, and that pisses me off!

Kinda the same thing though. Bad mods are bad mods. |

at 11:10 PM, Wednesday December 1, 2010 EST Mods mean well, I'm sure, but they all have ties and connections to the old school players, and play favorites. Can't be helped, given the structure of things here.
Until such time as there is consistent mutual enforcement of punishment, consistent punishment, and mods that are not drawn from the usual pool of constant players, modding will be less effective than it could be. Not dissing the mods, just putting all that out there. That being said, anyone who thinks they "deserve" anonymity, or anything else, don't understand how the world works. |

at 11:19 PM, Wednesday December 1, 2010 EST Greetings from New Orleans!!!!
I'm a bit wasted at the mere hour of 11:15, but I'll respond to this post anyways. I'm sure everyone is awaiting my meager contribution to this thread. Yes, it was I that checked into the IP for Jack and compared it to my spreadsheet and noticed it matched fackfuce. I didn't mention a city or country affiliated with this IP address, so everyone calm the fuck down. As to the point of whether admins should out alt accounts...........I'LL DO IT EVERY FUCKING TIME. I could give two shits whether anyone has an anonymous account here. If the site were run properly, only one account per IP address would be allowed anyways. BE GLAD YOU CAN HAVE ALT ACCOUNTS. As for whether Jack is fack, or DLK.....I haven't determined that yet. If I see a Canadian IP address tied to the account, then I'll ban that account as well as fack's account since sharing is obvious. LOL at this thread getting as strong as it has. |

amen to that. personally i think there shouldnt be any alts in the first place, but i can live with them being in use (obv i dont have one). HOWEVER i can NOT think of a *legit* reason why someone would want to have alternate accounts NOT linked to his main account, or have that information withheld. Only intent of mischief would want an unlinked anonymous alt. IMO after the first account from a certain IP all subsequent accounts should be identified as secondary/alt accounts, give them a mandatory [ALT] or [2nd] or [ADDTL] added to the name or an asterisk or a plus or somefink. |

at 7:21 AM, Thursday December 2, 2010 EST Ok Thrax, if that is rule, then why we all can't know alt's of all player's? Only that is my point, I really don't care who know's or don't know my alt's, I told them by myself, all know's that, but point is why kehoe for example can get such information and I can't??? Cause he is a friend with Sam, that is why!!! I expose my alt's by myself, my point here is that isn't all players treated same way, for example, I wonder would Sam tell to jack hoe's alt's??? That is my point! That real, good moderator should treat all players equaly!

at 7:45 AM, Thursday December 2, 2010 EST And Sam didn't go out looking for IPs to match for me to help out whoever Jack's alt was. I gave him 2 acct's that I suspected to be played by the same person, and asked if he could verify if the IPs for those accts were the same. I'm sure if you asked Sam to check accts versus my IP, he'd do it for you as long as you don't give him a laundry list of accounts.

GTFO with your hypothetical ruling. as it is now. ppl can have secret alts. and imo its not up to mods to expose them. Could you maybe explain why normal players(not cheaters) should not be allowed to have alts ?? also, nice to know that beside ryan now the mods too "give two shits" ... |

at 8:20 AM, Thursday December 2, 2010 EST wow, great morning read.
merry xmas jesse :) as far as mod's being equally fair to everyone, or giving more favor to their old 'friends' or w/e. i mean, come on, i totally agree that thrax/sam/insertModNameHere gives me the benefit of the doubt. but youd me a complete moron to think it's because they <3 me. it's because ive fuckin played this site for 4 years, and ive built up a fuckin good reputation as a trustworthy kdicer. if you look at my portfolio of kdice experience/contributions (not monetary, ofc), it makes complete utter sense that the mods will 'favor' me. i earned that favor. i fuckin worked hard to earn it. meanwhile, theres a group of players who are bitching that they dont have this favor when 1) they cuss/threaten ppl every fuckin month in ways that would get them instapermabanned on most other moderated sites online, and 2) they bitch constantly about the mods, and 3) they do shit that they should know the mods (and most regular kdicers) are 95% disapproving of (like creating 'secret' alt accts), AND THEY FUCKING EXPECT THE SAME LEVEL OF RESPECT FROM THE MODS THAT I FUCKING EARNED OVER FOUR YEARS? take a reality pill. mods are doing a good job. they ban pgas on 0 tables that we never know of (read the advisorLog every now and then, good god), and they ban pgas on upper tables, which causes a shitstorm of bitching. they fucking do their jobs, they do it as well as they can considering how few hours they can work at this site for free. for christmas' sake, be thankful for them. |

ummm, right... well , lets see. like i said previously, all of my alts have never seen a 2k table, some haven't even seen a 500. the *legit* reasoning for even having them is so that when I can't find a game to play on greekboi (ex. I have too many points to sit a 500 game and there are no 2k's filling), i can simply log onto my alt and play some good old kdice at the 0's and 100's. Snow leopard was only created because of greekboi being banned (rightfully so) but yeah obviously I would much rather have gotten that bronze on greekboi. Anyways, I do agree though, most alts are not used for the right reasons and I would certainly not be opposed if only 1 account was allowed per IP address. (Although what happens with siblings and spouses in that situation?) Anyways, let's all forget about playing with alts, and lets cut the PGA/PGE/OTF crap (which by the way, they are different, although most people are too thickheaded to listen to the reasons why). EDIT: OK, I guess I kind of went on a tangent here and wrote an essay... Let's purify kdice and make it more fun for everyone. One thing that bothers me about the current system, that I, along with other regular 2k/5kers can help to fix, is the OTF relationships at the higher tables. Now that I write this, though, I'm thinking maybe OTF's aren't the only thing to blame. Obviously, as human beings, we are more inclined to trust/distrust people with whom we have built more stronger relationships well (either positive or negative). And it doesn't help when I try to truce a random player (a.k.a. a "noob") by moving my big stacks either away from him or off of a cut, and he responds by exploiting the vulnerability that I had just created myself. Like wake up guys, we're playing at the higher tables for a reason. If you can't recognize when someone could have wiped you out but didn't, then you shouldn't be playing anything beyond 500, maybe even 100. And if you do recognize the move but choose to hit that person anyways because they are now easier to attack, then it isn't OTF's at work the next you play and you get 4v1ed. It is the fact that you've been regarded as a moron by other players, and they can't trust you to be nice, so they feel the need to kill you before you are too big of a threat. But in some instances, I have seen good players come to the higher tables and play a very solid game, only to be fucked from a 1st/2nd position into 5th-7th. This is not right, and I hate to see this happen. Usually when I do see it occur, I voice my opinion in the chat, and when possible I will flag out before them. Call it bullshit if you want, but on the rare occasions that I am in the game and see someone being screwed, I do that. We need to encourage more people to come play the higher tables, not only would it boost competition, but it would also create new relationships and open things up to more people than just the plethora of players that occupy the 2k and 5k games on the regular. So what do you say guys, think we can make it happen? |
