MY TOP 5 REASONS WHY THE SAME PEOPLE ARE GETTING MEDALS:
1. THEY ARE MEMBERS 2. THEY PLAY ALL DAY, EVERYDAY 3. THEY PGA WITH EACH OTHER ALOT 4. THEY MAKE SURE YOU DONT GET YOUR POINTS TOO HIGH AND KILL YOU OFF BECAUSE YOUR NOT THEIR FAN 5. IF YA BITCH YA DIE MORE, THEN BECOME A PGE AND REALLY GET SCREWED I DECIDED TO MENTION THESE BECAUSE I HAVE PLAYED 22 GAMES TODAY AND MY PPG IS EXTREMELY LOW. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH WITH THE SITE AND IF IT WASN'T FOR TWO PEOPLE WHO TELL ME TO TRY AND HAVE FUN I WOULD BE GONE. POOCH |

2. Sure all day, everyday is one option. Plenty of people get medals without playing all the time though. 3. Some do, most don't. 4. Only a few people dedicate time to tearing other people down, call them what they are and move on. 5. If you piss and moan about nothing all the damn time, you better believe regulars will kill you first. Your incessant whining over nothing ruins other peoples fun so they rather just remove you. Yodel and Alex are two very good examples, most everyone thinks they are both complete and utter morons, Yodel never found a way to relate to other people here whereas Alex still considered dumber than sin by most around here has at least accepted that people aren't all PGA's or active PGE's and just are playing the game. |

at 4:46 PM, Monday August 2, 2010 EDT pooch, you better not literally mean everyone that gets a trophy. Because I definitely earned a trophy last month.... and I'm not a member, played less than 150 games, don't PGA, and don't kill people with high points for any reason.

at 5:05 PM, Monday August 2, 2010 EDT Pooch, you know I have a lot of sympathy for you and your quest for a medal.
I know it will always be hard for you to get one but I am sure there is room for gaining experience so don't give up yet. And I hope the following comparison helps explaining. I will only pick one sport but this applies to many other single or team sports. Look at men's tennis. It's been a few years now that it's always the same small group of players that win the big events. Nadal and Federer almost always get to semis or better. It's not a surprise that the best players win again and again. If it would always be other people that won every month, it would just be random and the interest in that sport would quickly drop because there was no skill involved. And with the tennis ranking system, new players have to work their way up. Even if they are extremely good, they still will have to play qualifiers or play more rounds because they have a low ranking. They will always face tough oponents in the first rounds, adding to the difficulty to gain points. After a while, they gain some points and get easier draws in the next tourneys. It's a process which can take years. So you must understand it's a similar process here. People will kill you faster than top players simply because they are less scared of you. If they attack you, they think they have a good shot. If they attack a top player, they can be sure of a big fight so it's better odds to fight you. So you will have to learn to make a stand and play just as good. Top players will remember if you play good or bad and take that into account for future games. |

at 5:54 PM, Monday August 2, 2010 EDT much as i like to see a tennis analogy on the forum, i have to say....terrible analogy.
tennis is an individual sport. if all of kdice was a heads up games, it might be a fair analogy. you're comparing a 1v1 sport to a free for all. |

at 7:02 PM, Monday August 2, 2010 EDT Jurgen and Monte have pretty much given a solid light explanation.
1. Big players are harder to kill them new guys in the eyes of most people 2. Politics. Seriously guys, get over the idea that war is so simple. This is why there are so many grunts with guns and a small group telling them where to run ;) |

at 7:03 PM, Monday August 2, 2010 EDT Well, being that it was only the first I noticed this about it. All were members; but I don't hold that against them. Second, my start was shitty and that does have some to do with it. Thirdly, and for some bizarre reason I feel this way..I've been fighting one hella illness which has caused my temperament to go through the f---ing roof.
I've settled down some from last night but i will say this; if I feel like I'm getting cheated or a PGA(which to me some people were right about last night's) I'll gladly point it out. Stupid theory tho some1 ship me $10, lol for membership :p I'll calm down again and yes I am one of those "survivor players" but don't use this account too much. Hollaz |

at 9:04 AM, Tuesday August 3, 2010 EDT happy, of course the analogy with tennis isn't perfect. I don't see why you focus on the obvious differences of both games. I was trying to illustrate the difficulty for a new player to gain points and to earn trust from the veteran players.
There is not really a sport where you could compare kdice games with. The closest thing I would be able to give atm is cycling. I mean it is a team sport in a way. If a few riders escape, other teams can decide to let them get ahead or work together and hunt them. Depends on how strong the cyclists are that are trying to get away or where they are positioned in the rankings. One can offer a victory to another like Contador did. Feel free to find a better analogy if you want but that wasn't the point of my earlier post. |
