You are correct, I should have said plate tectonics and continental drift.

That being said, nobody who is not completely ignorant considers North and South America to be the same continent. Also, no other country in the world has the word "America" in the name. I realize that many countries with massive inferiority complexes resent that the United States has appropriated the term "American" to name its citizens, but that is not our problem. We predate all other countries in both North and South America, therefore we can rightfully claim title to the term.

i never said i had a problem that the USA is being referred to as America, NEVER. It's totally fine with me. I dealt with it when i was 12 (first time i've been to the US).
