ok so if there was a pop fly, and he dropped it, and then made that play itd still be the best play ever? (assuming infield fly rule didnt exist) fucking the play up and then saving ur own ass doesnt make a good play. It was cool, but there are plenty of better plays.

i dont know if youve ever pitched before pat, but beuhrle is a lefty, and most of his momentum at the time of the hit is carrying him toward the third base line because he was following thru on his pitch. so just as a spastic reaction (which is what 99% of baseball is) he successfully knocks down the ball with his foot and then proceeds to chase said ball, then flip it with his glove backwards and between his legs to konerko. which is waaaaaay more impressive than Lee being a spaz and magically ending up with the ball in his hand
