Main and alt in Top 25; is it fair?

Thought this could make for a good discussion.

Currently there are two players I know of who have their main AND their alt in the top 25 right now; neither in the top 10.

My question is: Is it fair for a player to have both his or her main AND his alt in the top 25, with no intention of going for top 3 with his or her main?

I don't think so. But I'm guessing most of the responses I get will be disagreeing with me because, well, I'm Alex.

One side of the argument is that the player has worked hard with both names and deserves two spots in the top 25.

The other side would probably be that this player already has a name in the top 25, and should use that one to try to get to top 3 before using their alt to also get in the top 25.

I guess this discussion could also lead into the point of alts. Personally I only get on my alt when either there isn't a member tourny going on, if I'm not feeling lucky.

Heck, should alts be trashed altogether?

What's your opinion?

alts should have been killed with the invention of dom and essentially were but then we realized that with the next scoring system if you took the 1-10th place elo spots with your alt it would be hard for people to catch you.

Then the points system came into place and again the only reason to have an alt is to play lower tables once you hit the cap and avoid bans on main. This rule's been changed but let's see how well thrax can officiate.

The only reason leekstep is playing an alt is cuz he'd go for first and fuck up his life if he didn't split his gameplay between 2 accounts. So kudos to leek for moderation.

Not really sure why trav is alting though, probably just to mess with you alex.

the ability to have alts being banned...is the dumbest shit ive heard

that was in response to andro or ando or whoever he is...

and you're sir are an idiot. dont try to play me. your position in the game doesnt determine how well you play. or even the amt of games you play. it doesnt take a long time to get in the top 25. you can easily gain 20k points in 1 day. so it's not abt having alot of free time. and why don't you do everyone a favor and stop thinking of ideas...if you put as much energy into your school work, you'd be a fucking genious.

honestly alex i hit 40k in a week, you can say I pga/cheat whatever but I know I didn't so that's all that matters.

Alex it's just a matter of time before you get a monthly first.

ok here's my 3 cents. probably stupid and not nearly as logical/coherent as it seems in my head, but whatever. basically according to you, alex, then you should use your main and aim for top 3. if you are anywhere near successful at doing that, then some random alts ranked 20th or 17th or 10th shouldn't make a difference. on that note, other people making points on their alts has no effect on your ability to gain points. unless people use these alts to pge people or to funnel points. then they should be banned. but not for being an alt, but for being shared/pga/point funneling. so just keep doing your thing, im pretty sure you are fairly new to the site, so give youself some time and you'll figure out how easy is to accumulate those silly little rhombi.

p.s. i know that last sentence was a major run-on, but my screen is cracked and im too lazy to care about grammar, punctuation, spelling etc. right now

i quit playing leekstep because i didnt want to play 75 members tourneys and 400 games to get gold.

I have had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many 10 hours kdice days over the past three years and i want to avoid the temptation of going for 300k points

i cut down to about 1 hour per day the last three weeks and it was just an accident that i had two top 25 accounts and 105,000 total points.

i think each new account should be linked to a unique ip to keep pga players from avoiding rcs and public scrutiny by hiding behind alts.

was murti the original 2-top-25 accountant? i mean in the rhombi scoring system, not elo.

for elo, it would have to be dutch, right? he was before riser and riser2 from what i remember. or did funk do it before dutch? old school folks, reminisce with me.
