Main and alt in Top 25; is it fair?

Thought this could make for a good discussion.
Currently there are two players I know of who have their main AND their alt in the top 25 right now; neither in the top 10. My question is: Is it fair for a player to have both his or her main AND his alt in the top 25, with no intention of going for top 3 with his or her main? I don't think so. But I'm guessing most of the responses I get will be disagreeing with me because, well, I'm Alex. One side of the argument is that the player has worked hard with both names and deserves two spots in the top 25. The other side would probably be that this player already has a name in the top 25, and should use that one to try to get to top 3 before using their alt to also get in the top 25. I guess this discussion could also lead into the point of alts. Personally I only get on my alt when either there isn't a member tourny going on, if I'm not feeling lucky. Heck, should alts be trashed altogether? What's your opinion? |

ok, so why is that lame ? because if alex want to be on the top 25, he should think of better ideas to be on top 25 rather than "wishing" the 20-25 player dropping out of it. am not disagreeing because you'r alex, i don't even hate you, you are just too short sighted MOST of the time. better focus on winning the members tourny to reach 40k or 50k rather than wishing "das get 7th in a 5k game, or leek and trav alts dropping from top 25." hope that was on topic enough for you, coz i thought the topic was: why isn't alex in top 25 ? |

because once it is determined that alts are allowed, obviously they should be allowed to score points and be ranked according to their score. so...should alts be allowed? i have one. the reason i created an alt was for the month i got more than 102,500 points thus exceeding the limits to play on 2k tables. and since 5k tables aren't going a lot of the time, this basically meant i was done playing kdice for the month. if they changed the cap on the 2ks to allow anyone to play, i wouldn't mind killing alts. i do think anonymous alts are for cowards and i don't see any noble motive behind annonymous alts. |

I think alts should be used if and only if your main can't get any games going (like you have 100k+). Alts should not be used if you are banned, you were banned for a reason and this has been settled that all your accounts get banned if one of your names gets banned. I think it's just retarded for people to get as many names into top 25 as possible; grow some nuts and go for top 3. Forget your alt. |

" No, in the topic you are talking about the conclusion wasn't that all alts should be banned, it was that if you cheat/break the rules/commit a crime/ etc... on one of your accounts, then the ban would extend to all of your accounts i.e. alts. |

at 11:53 AM, Tuesday March 30, 2010 EDT The reason alts spawned was that in the old, old scoring it was based on elo without resets per month, so once you got an account in the top 25 with high elo, you would leave it there and play another account.
It's why there are so many losers on the leaderboard in that first month and why amo, algios and air are all in there twice. the more you know... |
