delta q x delta p > or = hbar/2 is the equation

where delta q and delta p are the standard deviations of the particles position and momentum respectively.

I brought relativity up because the calculation for a particles momentum is a relativistic equation.

The principle does not allow for both a small q uncertainty and a small p uncertainty though. It does however allow for both to be large uncertainties.

the actual equation for a particles momentum is

p=(M*v)/[(1-v^2/C^2)^0.5]

p = momentum
M = mass at v=0
v = velocity

I should start a physics thread now and see if that will get to 100.

The post count of this thread needs to be reduced by 20% due to the fact that each time deten responds it take 3-4 posts for his point to be complete.

yeah the post count is a little bit inflated, but i still put more content in most of my posts then about half of the rest of the community does, so i think we are ok. Plus i believe that somebody once said in an early post
"even a toolish accomplishment is still an accomplishment"

so yeah im a tool.

According to the uncertainty principle, the location of detenmile in a thread cannot be pinned down to a particular post at a particular time.
