i'm curious how these experiences proved to you anything to do with christianity. you envisioned a global flood and concluded jesus was the son of god?

i mean, why didn't you conclude that the epic of gilgamesh was real from that? could it perhaps be because your particular global flood story (which was bastardized from prior global flood stories) is the one you know best?

and wait a second...are you saying you believe in a literal global flood? i figured you were a metaphoric guy...that is was a local flood which was "their world."

the visions didnt really have much focus on the flood aspect, i was just shown a globe of water. i referred to noahs story just to give a picture of it. if that takes away from the focus of the story, then i retract the comparison to noahs time. just simply picture a globe of water, doesnt even have to be the earth. hell, its jupiter's moon ganymede if that makes it less distacting ;)

and the reason it led me to believe more in God/Jesus is because it happened while i was seeking him. i mean, if this were to happen while i seek guan-yu, then i would wholeheartedly be a chinese polytheist type.

I'm still reluctant to respond to your story monte. I think the human mind can fabricate any vision (or idea/dream/nightmare) it wants and it can translate that vision into any meaning it wants. You were thinking about God and religion, so when you spaced out and had this "vision", your mind translated it to where your thoughts had been lying. That's my take on it anyways.

I know if I think about a subject really hard before I go to sleep, I can almost force that subject into my dreams in some form. The human mind is quite amazing. Of course, some of you theists would call that some type of metaphysical reaction. It is what it is.......it can be studied and understood to some point, and I can get on board for that.

I just have trouble working with things I can't see or touch, especially when nobody else can see or touch them. My faith is lacking...

i highly doubt you can offend me. after youre a missionary for 2 years in a country that is like 1% christian, you lose that easily-offended side of your personality, and come to accept the fact that most of the people either disagree with what youre preaching, or just dont care.
