Why dont you want to see the facts, thraxle ?

This US system is expensive and unefficient. All the world does know that, but you ?

But anyway it's your problem. Just don't be surprised when everyone laughs at you.

@ Chase

Where did I say anything about corporate America? If a doctor makes a mistake with a patient a lawyer could file a lawsuit and sue him for millions of dollars. Good doctors deserve good pay from patients. I have no problem with a life saving neurosurgeon pulling in $500K a year. That guy spent 12 years of his life in school and saves lives daily. However, I have a problem with the hospital that neurosurgeon works for having to pay millions of dollars every year to insure themself against tort law.

@ Charles

I'm debating whether to stop commenting on your posts. You rarely add anything constructive to the conversation and usually you just bash America at every chance. Before I end our online conversational relationship, I'd like to point a few things out.

The U.S.A. is a greater nation than France. Has been for about 100 years now. We are wealthier than you and we are more powerful than you. Things may not be all the great these days, but if you think some kind of American armageddon is on the horizon, the only people that will be laughing is us. If you think otherwise I have no problem telling you you're wrong...........the end.

The U.S. will always right the ship and we have no problem stumbling on the way to get there. If you think "running" a country is so easy why don't you step up to the plate and make France a better nation than it is. Of course, getting a Frenchman to "run" is pretty easy. Just point a weapon his way and watch him scurry.

Anyways, fun conversation is over. I gotta go look for a new country to live in since the U.S. is closing later this year. I'll be sure to grab some nice souveniers on the way out. Thanks for the good times.

Vive La France!

Oh, and by the way, I said I would cite facts if you want. I never said that I didn't want to see facts. I don't fabricate my opinion like you Charles.

So the 2 year average that you live longer in Canada you get to spend waiting for a doctor.

Also this is a huge over simplification of average life. US life expectancy isn't lower than Canada's because of health care.

@Thraxle, just an answer anyway to your bullshits:

"Has been for about 100 years now."
--> Wew, I'm impressed !
About 2000-3000 years for European civilzation
About 5000-6000 years for India, China, Egypt, etc. Irak ?

"We are wealthier than you"
--> Wrong. Take a look on wikipedia. Easy even for u.

" and we are more powerful than you."
--> Ahahah. Just a question of size.

Well, some of those stories favor my view while others make it laughable. There is no way to quantify the abundance of "unnecessary care" that doctors do in fear of being sued if they don't do it. Some estimates go as high as a few hundred billion.....others stay as low as less than 1% of health care.

As usual it's hard to find decent, unbiased information on the internet.

Charlie.......take your pick from the above wikipedia articles. Unless you are comparing your ENTIRE CONTINENT against my one country then your argument is pretty bad.

And I was joking on France, not Iraq, or Europe, or anyone else. Good of you to bring up the wonderfully developed Middle East though. It would also be pretty hard for us to dominate the world considering we didn't exist until the late 1700's. Not bad that we made it to #1 less than 2 centuries into our existance. Whereas France has been around for THOUSANDS of years and they are lucky to even own the very land they currently occupy.
