I just got my first paycheck of the year. Much to my surprise I'm having an additional $4.00 a week taken out of my paycheck for federal withholding (and I don't make over $250K per year). Can one of you beautiful democrats explain this to me?

at 1:02 PM, Thursday January 7, 2010 EST Anyone that takes away the overwhelming power dems currently have to shove everything they think is good down our throats. Having a majority in Congress plus the White House is far too scary. And nobody can convince me that anything being done is good right now. We will end up with some half baked health bill that doesn't even cover everyone in the country like was originally planned. Dems can't even get it right when they wield ALL OF THE POWER.

at 1:08 PM, Thursday January 7, 2010 EST my guess is they cant get it right because some of them realize that the majority of their constituents are against universal health coverage to start with, so they realize they are jeopardizing their next terms.

at 1:37 PM, Thursday January 7, 2010 EST What a wonderful generalization gdott. Well played.
Now, explain to me exactly what Obama has done that is so wonderful so far? He's spending more on the "War on Terror" than Bush did. He's spending more (a lot more) in general than Bush did. He's increasing the tax load on the rich of this country which is a perfectly negative reaction to job creation (the rich own businesses......tax them more and they'll invest less.....less job creation). Give me specifics on what our government is doing that is so great? The deficit is worse than ever. We are about to socialize 1/6 of our economy and our government has proven through other programs that they are incapable of running anything efficiently. So go ahead, generalize the Republican party all you want. The current regime is proving on their own just how incapable they are of running this country. |

at 1:39 PM, Thursday January 7, 2010 EST Oh, and by the way, it's been cold as fuck for about a month now. We are on pace to having one of the coldest winters EVER. You liberal, tree-hugging democrats can take global warming and the money we get to waste on it and shove it up your tight little asses.

at 1:52 PM, Thursday January 7, 2010 EST I watch fox news, therefore I know what i'm talking about.
When president clinton was in office the national debt was basically gone, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_public_debt) if you look at the charts here you can see right around 2000 when bush took over where the debt went back thru the roof. and to answer the question I know youre going to ask because you have no clue what your takling about - well it shows we had debt even before bush took office - well thrax, funny you should ask, On January 15th 2004, the Outstanding Public Debt jumped $13 billion to $7,001,852,607,623.35. This was the first time in history the U.S. National Debt surpassed the $7 trillion mark and came less than two years after the Debt first passed $6 trillion. As a comparison, the National Debt took over six years to rise from $5 trillion to $6 trillion. . as for the war on terror, which was another brain child created by republicans - oh yeah , they triumphantly lead us into the deserts of iraq for oil and WMD's, when the war should have been fought in afghanistan, or pakistan, pretty much everywhere else besides iraq - ironically whose dictator was known for squashing terrorist cells in his country because he beleived they posed a threat to his regime ( life in the emerald city - a book on the green zone, read up son) and if you were paying attention to those tax numbers on your paycheck you'd realize they went down from when bush was in office. but yeah the stimuli check worked real well, you my friend neeed a stimuli check if your going to sit here and tell me the republicans have done a ship shape job the past decade, how old are you? |
