at 6:17 AM, Wednesday October 7, 2009 EDT the fact that moon is in on this thread means that it has potential for 1k+, because he has changed it from simple banter to cosmologically-important topics, like discussion of kdice.blogspot.com and sporcle.

at 6:21 AM, Wednesday October 7, 2009 EDT btw, i always get 100% on that periodic quiz now. favorite element is Pr. because one time this guest speaker came into our department (med phys dept) to give a talk, and it had to do with beta emitters, specifically Pr. so the title slide had Pr on it, and the head of our dept turned stopped him at the title slide, turned around and looked at everyone and said, does anyone know what Pr is?
then all the students were quiet for a couple seconds, until i peeped up from the back: praseodymium. head of dept was like, what? what is praseodymium. then the speaker interjected and was like, praseodymium is Pr. and the head of dept was like, ... oh. so then he thought i was smart. foolish him. |

at 6:26 AM, Wednesday October 7, 2009 EDT yeah so when youre a phd student you go through a phase where you want to do anything but work on your project. me and my coworker totally snarfed up on sporcle when we saw it (coworker being the dude in the original monte avatar).
we would race through the elements. i would beat him at first, because i knew them all alphabetically. but eventually i could never beat him, because he memorized them all in order of atomic number. it got to the point where we would gather around his monitor and point at different numbers, and he would say, ohhh 85 is thulium. and wed be like, shit. (i know 85 prolly isnt thulium, thats just an example of how good he got at it. all i know is that thulium starts with th, like thallium and thorium.) anyways, i memorized all the popes. he memorized all the mlb hall of famers (check out those quizzes.) but i win because i memorized all the crayola crayon colors. this is serious stuff. |

at 6:28 AM, Wednesday October 7, 2009 EDT btw, moons first impressions are hilarious.
like his first impression of int was when he read my post on blogspot, which makes int out to be a fuckstick (which he is.) when moon first met me, he totally didnt like me, and i was like why is this (because i care way too much about what people think about me on the internet). he said that he met this guy called leekstep, and leekstep told him all about how big of a cheater/douche i am (which i am.) |
