Kdice has changed - for the worse

Most of the old players who used to play the top level tables have left. the player culture has changed, leaving a void which was filled by inexperienced, culture-less noobs that make kdice now unbearable. It has mostly turned into vflag-fests and mindless flame wars. this post is not about tournaments.
To the old players: why are you still here? To the new guys: what is enjoyable at the style of game you play? |

It's just a game or starts now. Good start gets first, 2nd best start verbally surrenders before anything happens... Now first and second have truced... and the game is over by round three all based on starts... |

If I play 100 games, i'd rather have 100 2nd places than 50 1st's and 50 7th's. There's no real glory in 1st, I don't get a warm glow inside. If everyone played to maximize their points and everyone is able to vflag in round 1 what's the problem? It is fair for all.
I still fail to understand what's wrong with a round 1 vflag but here is an idea (which has been mentioned before) to stop it. Anonymous kdice - your name is hidden, you are now just a colour. vflag would become obsolete as there is no need to keep your word, backstabbing will be rampant, it would be beautiful. |

i also like the idea of anonymous games and i hope that in some way we will be provided this service, but thats not the issue here. i think we all agree that what sucks most is that people get points just for talking. whoever sucks up to the big guy first gets the next best position. for now i think the best thing we can do is to consider a vflag as a truce, since thats what it effectively is, and COUNTER it. |
