It was down to 2 players in the tourney.
I had 4000+ points, and Cod4, the second place player had 82 points. I was just about to win the tourney, and then the kdice web page stops responding. I try to refresh, and it's still not working. Then I try loading it through a IP hider, and IT WORKS. MY IP JUST GOT BANNED. WTF???1?!? So i pull a new IP, login, and now the guy who had 82 points to my 4000, now has 4000 and I have 400. Ryan was in the game watching, not talking and refused to tell me why I was banned. I ABSOLUTELY DID NOT CHEAT, NO PGA, EVERYTHIGN WAS IN GAME. I know Bomb was watching, he can attest to this. So Ryan I think you owe me and the kdice community an explanation, why did you give my 1st place to cod4? |

I really see your point. You are playing for 1st in the tourney, not in that particular game, so it makes sense to attack the player in 2nd. When a player flags, all that really happens is that he no longer can get a higher position than what he flags for (except special cases of course). After a player flags, people should adjust their strategies accordingly. Most often it makes sense to leave a flagged player alone, in some cases it doesn't, like yours. I too wish people would treat flags as what they are, and nothing more. And stop whining! :-D That being said, you should know that most people have a different understanding of flags, and it is no surprise that people react against what you did. That's just how the KDice culture is these days... :-| |

at 7:32 AM, Sunday November 9, 2008 EST i think what people need to realize first is that CK and i are NOT offended because we were banned from gaining some points. we are NOT offended because we were banned from getting a nice 1st place in a tourney that we can brag about. we ARE offended because the way in which we were banned makes us look like the scum of the earth. and lots of people who werent involved in the games that led to the bannings are immediately concluding that 'i should never sit with these guys because they have no integrity.'
when someone takes points away from me, thats not a big deal. when someone attacks my integrity publicly and inexplicably, and then a whole mob starts to form... well, i get worked up when someone else tries to manipulate a community to believe i have no integrity. i wont go down quietly if my integrity is at stake. |

Well... to be honest... I think that is Ryan's best weapon for cleaning this stuff up. There are some that value points where their loss is valuable, but I think he is counting on players with 'reputations to uphold' to get the message that if you are doing shady stuff, you are going to be exposed. And if you are a good clean player that normally plays above-board, you are going to have to come to the pulpit to explain your action to your peers. Or... just be sure you are playing fair and avoid doing anything that is shady... even in the gray area. I would put this play by CK in that gray area... she wasn't trying to 'cheat', but she did (basically) lie to cod and gain some sort of advantage from it. |

at 12:41 PM, Monday November 10, 2008 EST I think it is pretty obvious what initiated the ban. You attacked a FLAGGED PERSON!!!! This is courtesy 101 CK. A white flag means surrender, and at that point you have two choices, to respect a person's flag or to disrespect a persons flag. One shows integrity and honor, another shows zero class, regardless of what your intentions are. It seems arrogant to me that you fully admit that cod4 flagged, then later you attack him, as if that is an OK act.

A flag is not a guarantee of inaction - by either sides of the flag. (Person flagging and person being flagged to) Example, despite a person flagging for 2nd, they could still get 1st place, if they killed the first place person. This little fact seems to go largely ignored, but it does happen. I've had it happen many times to myself. |
