at 9:04 PM, Friday July 11, 2008 EDT Im missing the "good competition" cause they don't really play anymore...at upper tables =D
most of the top players do not play fair, and considering that alot of them are members and seemingly more prominent, they are a reflection of this game. The top players generally control the dynamic of the month. we can pretend like alot of players don't pga...but uh, will an elitist that doesn't cheat please stand up... Im sorry if it seems like Im attacking so much...but sometimes it seems like Ryan has such a distant relationship with kdicers...and what's really going on...or at least turns a blind eye to it...I mean I KNOW he's heard of the cabal...and their actions...which is further proof that PGAing is welcome here in kdice. The name of this discussion is open PGA's and the mods do nothing...and WE ALL KNOW IT's true...you can attack me if you want but the truth will stand... so Stop the BSing... |

at 9:22 PM, Friday July 11, 2008 EDT pfff, too much good stuff to reply to here, I will just pick out a few things here or I write yet another 50000 characters
as a happy kdicer from Ryan's category #1:@ everyone from categories 1,2 but for the lols also a few of 3 and 4: thanks for being part of the kdice community. @ unlucky and monte: of course the 2500 gives you a great head start. This month I had +5,5k in my first 13 games. The first 6 or 7 were 500 because the 2500 was inactive but still... If I had to start from zero,I bet I would merely have managed to get 2500 today. but skrum made a good point too. If you happen to start with a bad luck streak, your losses are also bigger at 500/2500 so some great playing members have ended up with less than 2000 points after 10-20 games as well. For me the extra 2500 points only help me to limit my number of games each month. It is difficult to make a good estimate but I would agree with monte that the membership translates in about 4-5k of extra points in the end (if you take a hypothetical top25 player and would have him/her play say 250 games with and without the 2500 bonus; a hypothetical top 100 player would win about 2k-3k). It only makes a difference (no/blue/white medal) for a very limited number of players (think about it: what's the difference between ending 78th or 92nd?; 18th or 21st; even 150th or 280th?)... the main reason to get membership is to show OUR APPRECIATION to Ryan for making a great online game BTW monte, you are so right that people need to stop bitching about the limited number of shortcomings of kdice and better appreciate Ryan a bit more for being able to play his game for free or for $3 a month. @Ryan: thanks also for being so active in this discussion |

at 9:31 PM, Friday July 11, 2008 EDT you have a point about the main topic Johnson but the main discussion looked kind of closed
open pga = send mail to ryan pga at 2500/10k = other players usually remember the strange moves and adapt strategy or counter it in later games. |

at 11:34 AM, Saturday July 12, 2008 EDT @ DiceyGirl: A lot of players don't come to kdice for the "drama", as a lot of the players on kdice aren't in the 2500-10000+ point range. Being in the 2500-10000+ point range, the drama is certainly a large reason of why I'm still here, but it's also because this game is really fun to play. Give the game some credit, dammit.
@ Ryan: It's about time you went from third person omniscient to actually getting onto the forum in full force and finally coming after those who are doing everything you hate. Keep it up; talk to us more, let us know that you really are there, maybe pop in for a few games a bit more often. Do this and criticism will go from "Ryan does nothing about (blank)" to "Ryan, you should should do this instead of that". This way, more people can provide input that's actually constructive and we can all get more stuff done to make this an even better game. |

at 3:49 PM, Saturday July 12, 2008 EDT And, hummm, well Ryan, I'm in category 1. In fact I'm not a member I'm in the category of "people who loves the game and donated before there was any reward for doing it".
I love the essence of the game and I've played thousand of games, people like DiceyGirl or unlucky too. Then some people think of new ways to have fun with the game... is it bad at all? It shouldn't be bad, I would love if my clients would be giving me new ways to make my company bigger. Jurgen exposed a great idea about a league, unlucky asked you for team games, I played a shared account, Fede created an hilarious alt and posts RIP in the forum (everyone laugh, all is OK) and yes, I play different accounts ("alts") each month. But, hey, we do it for fun, we love the game and we want to keep loving it. As long as we aren't hurting other players, I think it's all good (maybe I'm wrong). We aren't a bunch of idiots who don't appreciate your work, man, WE LOVE YOUR WORK, and (talking about myself) find awesome that this game is for free. I agree with you, Ryan, when you say that 95% of the community don't need to be managed, and mods are doing their job managing an additional 4% (avatars, harrassing, etc.), for the 1% left (cheaters in essence) there are 2 ways of managing: 1/ Ryan (but don't be mean, man, you don't need it). 2/ Self-management: seriously at the 2,5k/10k tables everyone knows more or less who is in good terms with who. Ok, you can agree me or not, but you all will agree me in this: my english sucks. Yours, nuf |

@ Jurgen : Yes, it doesnt make THAT big difference, buts its a big difference for those (like myself right now), who dont play 2 many games and want as best results as possible. P.s. i agree with most of what Nuflis said |
