at 12:13 PM, Saturday December 22, 2007 EST Dear What's left of the Kdice Community, Just wanted to drop a note and say thanks for all the fun times, good laughs and great conversations. I've had a wonderful time with you all and wish you the best. And to my PGE's, I appreciate the time and energy you put into hating me. I am honored. The time has come that I move on... Since September, I have seen this great game just fall apart. From a major game changed to spiked threads, I will not invest my time in a game that does not respect how important the players of a game are. When I first started this game, I thought Ryan was wise and much like a man in charge, he had a group of passionate people dedicated to this game advising him and helping him take this game to it's fullest potential. I was wrong. If anything, the opposite is true. There is very little done for retention of dedicated players and even less listening to them when they do have a valid point. Dedicated players are influencers, your best marketers. Without them, you lose the passion for the game. New players are very important because you have to expect drop-off, but keeping those players who are engaged in the game engaged will create longevity and investment in your game. And by dedicated, I don't mean the top 25, I mean those who are passionate about the game. We all know the RND drama and while I disagreed with most of his style, he was a very important part to this game. Every good story needs a protagonist and an antagonist... with RND, the story of KDICE was complete and exciting. Now, Ryan has slipped into the antagonist role... a dangerous spot for any leader. I respect the work that Ryan does and the amount of time he puts into this game. I truly believe he is doing the best he can with what skills he has. But that is just it. He has not realized yet that he can't be it all. This is a hard lesson to learn... one that I think takes many years to fully realize and one that I hope Ryan comes to understand. Bringing people together and listening to your players will take this game where you want to go. Get someone to help you who isn't a programmer... one that understands how to listen, relate, and reply. I've built many successful brands in my short lifetime and I have seen the problem with Kdice before and will see it again. It's quite common. You're not the answer to the problems of this game, you're are the problem. Once you get that, things will be better. So my final advice... stop being the Brittany Spears of the Video game world, realize what you have, get some help and achieve the full potential of this game. To the players, keep speaking out and creating a dialogue that furthers this game. Speak your opinions and play by your word. Take care of your stacks, DG And for anyone that wants to chat... at 11:38 PM, Saturday December 22, 2007 EST Dicey, it was great, it truly was.
I have a message for those like PGA monitor: Pull your head out of your ass. Dicey is right, and couldn't have said it any better myself. Dedicated players are rarely noticed by Ryan, or anyone other than themselves. I've been an active player and social commentator for this game for about a year (hiatus in September and October) but no one gives a fuck. I've put effort into saying what I think about this game, giving ideas, and for what? I constantly try to validate myself to get some sort of pride, but it's useless. Anyways, other than that, she's also right about it falling apart. There is no kdice community, except for those who are able to play 1k games with each other. Call it a goddamn PGA or what have you, it's a second family for some (maybe not, but it's a good analogy). I won't forget kdice when I'm much older when it's gone, but that won't be because of what it is now. It's because of the crazy personalties players give themselves, the odd-chat that comes out of late night games, stuff like that. Just plain ol' good times. But I'm just reiterating what she said. But it's not doing anything for me now either. No one's going to give crap if I post a long message of what I think, but I'm glad Dicey did because people listened. Although, It seems like that. With that said, I can't add anything to what Dicey said about Ryan or what's the problem, but I know it's not the kdice that I know, nor will I remember. |

at 12:52 AM, Sunday December 23, 2007 EST I agree with Salvatore Noob and Ryan, quit being a drama queen Dicey and r0n. I mean all of you 'bla bla bla!' Don’t you have better things to do? You guys are all over-emotional babies like Dicey. Just because you are the elites, because you guys are the ‘best’, you twats think you know something about this Game.
Everybody laughs at your drama and stupidity. Ryan just wants you to play his game – get in, get out -- not waste his time with ‘thoughts’ and suggestions. Look if you had something to say worthwhile I am sure Ryan would listen to you. So if you don’t like Ryan’s rule you can just play somewhere where they want to hear your hip-trip bullshit. Just roll the dice any of you morons can do that without opening your big mouths right? Roll your dice and if your skilled you will win. Otherwise don’t waste time with your ‘brilliant analysis.’ Nobody wants to hear over dramatic Hoopla from a bunch of losers. I hope Ryan bans the lot of you. |

at 2:19 AM, Sunday December 23, 2007 EST I think the game is getting a lot better. It used to be that the only way to finish top 25 is by having a rolodex of allies.
It doesn't feel like that anymore. But I guess I did notice that the top 25 this month has 5 guys from the Cabal Team and lots of other pretty socially connected players. Anyway, I had a lot of fun playing anonymously and fairly for many months, doling out lessons for people who play poorly or PGA, and afterword I had a lot of fun networking for points. I think the passion dimishes somewhat because there is no longer intense competition to get a top spot, because everyone who really wanted to finish top 10 already has done it (or is just too inept to do it). This lack of competitiveness is normal and forseeable, it doesnt mean the game itself suck, it just means that there isnt a 10 member cabal cheating every day, or 30 anti-cabal fighters working to stop them. The game is good, and getting better. Next time you make a suggestion, try donating and see if it helps. If you really care about the game and you spend 100's of hours on it, the least you can do is cough up the price of a night at the movies or something. How about $0.05 per game? |

I think a team incarnation of kdice would be great. When that day happens, it would be a pleasure to play against you. Heck, it's fun to play against you individually. |

You must be such a lonely child. Tell your parents that the players of kdice don't appreciate being made to babysit you. Perhaps they should get you a puppy, so your desire for a sense of usefulness and purpose doesn't manifest itself in juvenile vendettas against imagined "bad-guys" in casual internet game chat rooms. This is not healthy for you. Good luck, my friend, I hope over time you get better, or grow up just a bit. |

at 1:10 PM, Sunday December 23, 2007 EST I know this thread is just throwing insults around but take it easy. I have no problem taking criticism from dicey but take it easy on the anti-pga crowd. They have a point, strategising over AIM just isn't fair to the game and its good to see that many of these players are leaving. There's no reason to attack these opinions... so just take it easy with the insults.
