at 12:13 PM, Saturday December 22, 2007 EST Dear What's left of the Kdice Community, Just wanted to drop a note and say thanks for all the fun times, good laughs and great conversations. I've had a wonderful time with you all and wish you the best. And to my PGE's, I appreciate the time and energy you put into hating me. I am honored. The time has come that I move on... Since September, I have seen this great game just fall apart. From a major game changed to spiked threads, I will not invest my time in a game that does not respect how important the players of a game are. When I first started this game, I thought Ryan was wise and much like a man in charge, he had a group of passionate people dedicated to this game advising him and helping him take this game to it's fullest potential. I was wrong. If anything, the opposite is true. There is very little done for retention of dedicated players and even less listening to them when they do have a valid point. Dedicated players are influencers, your best marketers. Without them, you lose the passion for the game. New players are very important because you have to expect drop-off, but keeping those players who are engaged in the game engaged will create longevity and investment in your game. And by dedicated, I don't mean the top 25, I mean those who are passionate about the game. We all know the RND drama and while I disagreed with most of his style, he was a very important part to this game. Every good story needs a protagonist and an antagonist... with RND, the story of KDICE was complete and exciting. Now, Ryan has slipped into the antagonist role... a dangerous spot for any leader. I respect the work that Ryan does and the amount of time he puts into this game. I truly believe he is doing the best he can with what skills he has. But that is just it. He has not realized yet that he can't be it all. This is a hard lesson to learn... one that I think takes many years to fully realize and one that I hope Ryan comes to understand. Bringing people together and listening to your players will take this game where you want to go. Get someone to help you who isn't a programmer... one that understands how to listen, relate, and reply. I've built many successful brands in my short lifetime and I have seen the problem with Kdice before and will see it again. It's quite common. You're not the answer to the problems of this game, you're are the problem. Once you get that, things will be better. So my final advice... stop being the Brittany Spears of the Video game world, realize what you have, get some help and achieve the full potential of this game. To the players, keep speaking out and creating a dialogue that furthers this game. Speak your opinions and play by your word. Take care of your stacks, DG And for anyone that wants to chat... at 6:44 PM, Saturday December 22, 2007 EST Well, I think Kdice still is a great game. I never understood how those nativistic elitists could even imagine that they were in any way important to this community. You can meet 100's of people every day at the tables, sometimes passionate and interesting folks. I always prefered funny and fresh faces over the self proclaimed elite players. Meeting them just meant getting attacked first while they were chatting about internals to each other.
Having Ryan not listen to the most fundamentalistic bunch and making this friendly and fair for the masses is not a bad thing. The game is still open for you as for everybody. |

at 7:39 PM, Saturday December 22, 2007 EST Listen up butt-munch, and listen good. Some of us have been playing this game a while together and have gotten to know each other over the last few months. Dicey is taking a moment to say goodbye to the people she's met while here, and also letting us know why she's choosing to leave. Meanwhile PGA monitor/kdicefreak whatever else you call yourself, if you were to leave I doubt you would be missed fractionally as much as DG, in fact, I would bet that many would rejoice at your departure, for all you bring is the voice of a strident, whiny, little twit with very little else going on in your life. I pity you more than I despise you.

at 7:48 PM, Saturday December 22, 2007 EST The only thing worse then kdicefreak's calls for facism and Ryan's support of it, is melodramatic crap like this. DG grow up, we know you as a persona, not a person.
