I'm currently working on the next version of kdice and gpokr including fixing the forums, stats and ideas.
Does anybody have ideas for stats they would like to see on their profile page? So far I'm thinking of having three sections, a breakdown of games today, days stats for the current month, and month stats for the current year. |

getting 200 pts in 5 games is of course better than in 50 games..... |

at 1:51 PM, Sunday September 23, 2007 EDT Going to also agree with phoneguy here and say that anything that encourages more people to play for first would be nice. Tired of seeing "Why would I play for first when first place already guaranteed that I could have second?" People think that I'm the moron for not allying with first to accept the 'gift' of second place.
Not going to go into an anti-allying with first philosophy here, but I'd like to see something like +10 points for first, -1 point for every other place, and then factoring in domination for the rest. This rewards you for playing well and taking over a lot of the board. Reflect your second-place finish (if it was somewhat earned) in dominance points, but don't reward people who frequently ally with the strongest on the board. |

at 3:51 PM, Sunday September 23, 2007 EDT Ryan, if you want to make your game as addictive as possible, you should award more points. Seriously, back at the old system, it was a lot eaiser to get points, making me want more and more. Me and my family competed. But now, it seems alot harder to earn and so much easier to lose. So we all have 0 diamonds. We hardly ever play now. Curving the awarding system will definetly make the game alot more fun for us, because all we care is points!! :)

at 3:02 PM, Monday September 24, 2007 EDT Ryan, anything you can do to keep cumulative records will keep people interested.
Things like, total wins all time. Total losses all time. Even fun things, like number of times rolling 8 ones. Case's Ladder uses stats and rankings like these and it keeps people coming back to improve on their records. When records are wiped, it's like starting over - something people don't like. Here are some more examples of fun stats to have permanently: Top Fifty (etc) Skill Rating (Overall) Top Win % (Overall) Skill Rating (10-49 games) Skill Rating (50-499 games) Highest Skill Rating Attained Longest Winning Streak Most Wins Most Losses Most games Hot Players Cold Players Rank Mongers (10 to 499 games) Top Upmatch Givers Challenges Issued Challenges Received Challenges Won Challenges Lost Formal Challenge Win % Tourney Wins Tourney Losses Tourneys Won Tourney Win % Tourney Win % (10 - 49 games) Tourney Win % (50 - 499 games) Most Wins (Week) Win Streak (Week) Most Losses (Week) All Time Wins (Week) All Time Losses (Week) Most Wins Win Streak (Month) Most Losses (Month) All Time Wins (Month) All Time Losses (Month) etc, etc, these would be ongoing stats that players could browse though, compare, and look forward to improving - there's just about something for everyone in there... |

at 3:20 PM, Monday September 24, 2007 EDT Ryan if You can make live 2 different versions of kdice then I would like to play previous version with ELO and so on. Current version differs from that very much. I know many people who love previous vesion and dont love current one. This new version is nor like fighting. It's much more like poker. This is Poker Dice, PDice :)

at 5:02 PM, Monday September 24, 2007 EDT I would like to see a table of percentage of finishes by start order and by color.
People are always saying that first and last person to start are at a disadvantage... It would be interesting to see the results of such a table. |
