As we wrap up the first quarter of kdice competition under the current scoring rules, I want to give recognition to kdice players of superior skill, especially those who are more recent arrivals to the game. At the end of May I will make a listing of TAPL scorers in three catagories:
1. Top TAPL scorers among players who began playing kdice in May. 2. Top TAPL scorers among players who have been playing kdice since April. 3. Top TAPL scorers among players who have been playing kdice since the scoring change and reset of the Elo's in February. The TAPL is explained in the comment at my profile page. The TAPL and this competition have no official endorsement from Ryan. To qualify for the competition, you must have played at least 35 games. To enter the competition, make a post to this thread. I will reply with a computation of your current lifetime TAPL. At the end of the month I will work up the lifetime TAPL's for all the contests and award certificates. I don't have fancy graphics capabilities like Ryan has for the trophies, but I will issue a certificate that looks like this: 5684 ∫ 1st.∫∫∫ A 3-month TAPL in the 5000's is likely to have a good finish, a 2-month TAPL in the 2000's is a good score, and a 1-month TAPL in the 1000's means you have a good shot for the top spot. |

at 1:30 PM, Thursday May 24, 2007 EDT Here is a bug-free, no-brain version of the code for the TAPL calculator. Paste it into cell A1 (the upper left hand corner) of a blank spreadsheet using Paste Special.....Text. Then, for Cell A2 (that says "Rank", move that cell, or cut and paste it, from location A2 to location B1 (just to the right of Cell A1). Then you should have "Month" in Cell A1 and "Rank" in Cell B1. Next, for Cell A3 ("Score"), cut and paste or move that cell to location C1. Then you will have "Month" "Rank" "Score" in Row 1. For each succeeding cell, cut and paste or move that cell to its appropriate location in Row 1 just as if you were laying tiles. After you have moved the cell "end row 1", start on Row 2. Continue until you have all the rows laid. Row 5 will have one more cell in it than the other rows. The numbers that you will see are for my profile. To see your profile, copy the three rows that start with "May", "April", "March" and paste them, using Paste Special....Text right on top of my profile and then it will show your profile and calculate your TAPL. The TAPL is the last number in the fifth row.
