Flagged me early in the game and in the end he had the upper hand but respected his flag. Good player.

2011-01-13 Lousy 1st place play by Bassad. I was in 1st as teal, Bassad was in 2nd as green, Sdf01 was in 3rd as yellow. Yellow used an 8 stack to connect and cut me handing the game to Bassad. No problem--that is the game (though Bassad's "nice yellow" is bad form). I flag to Bassad to fight yellow for 2nd. I take a lead, I put up a real flag so it is impossible for me to win, Bassad continues to play "1st place dictator" by directing traffic and offering "permission" to do things. My motto: When 1st is in hand leave everyone alone (unless attacked or stalemate). Bassad would do well to follow that motto; it is what HE wants when he is not in 1st place, but he is a hypocrite (no surprise). Here is the chat. ++++++++++ Bassad: hahhaaha............... Bassad: nice yellow............... oakcliff: flag green............... Sdf01: flag green too then............... Bassad: ok............... Sdf01: can i connect green?............... Bassad: sure............... Bassad: if you make it [Yellow never does connect and I take a giant lead for 2nd and put up a real flag.]............... Bassad: o hope you win yellow............... Bassad: but it doesn't look that way............... Sdf01: need to take some land green [to get to me--yellow now has about 3 lands and I have about 12 but we are separated by about 3 Bassad lands]............... Bassad: do whatever you need to do............... Bassad: but just flagging is an option to............... Bassad: uhm............... Bassad: ?............... Bassad: Just try to connect [Bassad has attacked me because he wants me to take a particular path to yellow. Bassad knows my real flag is up, but he doesn't seem to understand what that means--that I CANNOT win the game. Unless he was worried that I would give yellow first place. That was clearly not the case and Bassad knew it--he was just fearful and cowardly "oh please mister teal don't take any of my lands--I don't like it and it feels bad and I am in 1st place so I can say what to do"--pathetic]............... oakcliff: you don't want me to fight yellow?............... Bassad: yes............... oakcliff: you want me to sit there?............... oakcliff: is that it?............... oakcliff: what?............... oakcliff: which is it............... Bassad: attack only the one you need [Bassad may not realize that the fastest way to end the game was for me to get a '2-column' path to yellow so I can take advantage of my +32 dice--again, my real flag has been up a LONG time]............... Bassad: that one [Bassad demonstrates exactly which path I should take--pathetic.]............... oakcliff: you are one lousy first place player, bassad............... oakcliff: my motto: when 1st is in hand leave everyone alone... ............... oakcliff: unless attacked or stalemate............... oakcliff: i have a real flag up............... Bassad: ah............... Bassad: yes [Bassad pretends to just now see the flag, but Bassad the coward would have kept attacking me or would have asked for a real flag right away. He knew my real flag was up. Pretending not to have seen it until then is evidence of 'guilty knowledge.' Bassad was embarrassed by his own behavior.]............... oakcliff: you have no way to lose [Not quite true in theory, but true in reality.]............... Bassad: indeed you have [that is, indeed I have put up a real flag]............... oakcliff: yet you insist on interfering............... Bassad: dude............... Bassad: shut up [Rude and cowardly--quite a combination for Bassad.]............... oakcliff: lousy 1st place play............... Bassad: haha............... Bassad: happy times............... oakcliff: me too............... oakcliff: happy happy............... oakcliff: yellow can have 2nd............... oakcliff: you will need to take me one at a time green............... Bassad: just connect............... Bassad: babytime............... oakcliff: pathetic 1st place play............... oakcliff: i'll just watch tv............... oakcliff: go ahead green............... Bassad: haha lousy seond placer............... oakcliff: on NOW you get involved--pathetic [Bassad kills off yellow--his benefactor--in order to end the game quickly. When it served his purposes, Bassad acted dishonorably--as expected. Bassad should have killed me or quit himself. Killing yellow was dishonorable. Again, no surprise.] ++++++++++ Bassad should learn and live by my motto: When 1st is in hand leave everyone alone (unless attacked or stalemate). That is what HE wants when he is not in 1st--he should not be a hypocrite and a coward.
