tryin' on Sunday February 8, 2009 Strogatz, you're forgetting the chance of success in your equations. With the dice as they were, you were MUCH more likely to fail than succeed. Given 3:1 odds against success (a generous ratio), your expected value would be 175*0.25 + 37*0.75 = 71.5, much less than 83 for 2nd place. You should have settled.

I hesitated once, simply because if green is still alive, and I fight for 1st, than my expectation value is 175*1/2 + 0*1/2 = 87.5 still higher than 82 or 2nd place. And I just failed this time, but won on several other times, especially I din't truce with you, or even I didn't said cool with you, so it's not I turn on you, you dick head.
