Check Mate...
It is amazing to me how a simple check can corner a hand. be it a check raise, or just a check and betting on the next card. The check is a tool that used in the right situation can change a small pot win to a big one.
you have 6 A.. flop 6 6 2.. everyones eyes areon the sixes.. everyon just bet min and checked to you. an agressive bet you just get the pre flop cash. wait till the turn card: 8.. now all eyes are on that, a bet here may get some calls. ^^ As long as they were slow playing P'8s or got the straight draw you should be good. ^^

Check Mate....
There comes a point in a growing player where they realize its not always best to strong play the best hand. A check can do wonders if used in the right situation:
You are small blind with 6 A.
2 people in front of you limp (min bet)
BB checks
Flop: 6 6 2
2 in front check
The instinct reaction is to bet, but everyone is looking at the 6 6 not the two.. 2 limp ins usually means not strong hands.. a strong bet will likely cause em to fold min gain.. big blind limped in as well so he probably doesn't have much.
You check
Turn 8
now all the eyes are off the 6's and on the 8.
2 in front check again
you make a strong bet..
BB raises.. unless he has the straight draw or he was slowplaying Pocket 8's your good. ^^
Amazing how a little check can turn a small pot into a decent or maybe even a big one. ^^

Full Tilt... Tilt happens just watch a table for a while; after a bad beat, bad call/fold, river hit. If you were watching the table well you'll see it even in the best players, it may not hit them as hard. They may muck some hands to cool or go away for a smoke, or there betting tendencies just might change..
after an ok Jan 2nd, Jan 3 came around and I dunno what happend... I dont even remember being up 60k LOL but that probably was the cause of the outcome. ^^ 6 refills.. 0 dollars think they were all within an hour time frame lol. I try to hide tilt as best as I can, guess it all came out. >< didnt play as much as I was Jan 4,5th no refills those days recovery from going berserk I guess. ^^

river blues...
seems like the river can make or break a hand more then any other. Well prolly not it just feels intensified becuase it is the last card, and when the last card sways a hand it is feels extra disheartening.
Jan 01, had 10 J opponent Q6 flop QQA... they say a hand is determined by the betting.. we both played it slow checks. Turn K.. 3k bet comes out from my opponent I raise to 6k he goes all in 65k I call 60k..
yes this happens all the time at higher tables, but this was day 1. 2 hours in. ^^ final card flips because both all in K. boat beats a straight. ><. I blew it off at the time he had plenty of outs 3A 3K 2Q..
