I think it's ok not to respect flags. A flag is a one sided request to be left alone. U take it if u feel like it. I take them when they make me feel safer.

I am 2nd, then a guy is 3rd (both flagged)
The fourth, unflagged fights against me and the 5th has a 1 stack / 1 dice island in the middle of GronamOx.
He keeps the island guy in the middle of himself.
Then, he goes for me because I took a neutral land.
That doesn't sound like a fair game to me ...
