The problem with the end game is the same as with the beginning game: it's meant to simulate a poker 'pot', but in poker, you make an active bet (or check) saying "I think I will win this pot." Other people can call the bet or bail. A system like that for kdice would work fine: no-one would stay in if they didn't see themselves winning, and the obvious 1st place player wouldn't play 'king-maker' for 2nd place.

yes this pisses me off but as soon as i realise it is going to happen to me i flag.

I've said this 1000 times -- GET RID OF THE PLAYER IN FIRST AFTER HE HAS IT WON!!!

it's turning into a real problem that everyone expects 1st place to "do the right thing" after he has flagged ... just get him out of there, let him move on with his life, and everyone else stick around to sort out the rest
