This isn't much of an idea, more a bit of whining followed by a un-fleshed out random suggestion

Maybe if we just all went and played Yahoo Pool this wouldn't be a problem.

You could at least avoid ninja flagging if you were smart. It involved some skill. 2nd place being held hostage by 3rd is lame. It used to be 2nd would flag and 1st would let him beat down 3rd and 3rd would give up, and the game wouldn't drag on forever with 1st preserving a balance.

Perhaps a solution to this is to stop adding points to the pot after turn 25?

What about this as an idea: Give some kind of reward for how fast you win (the faster the better).

Setting aside the concept of "luckier", would not a "better" player be able to finish faster (more efficiently)?

To implement this idea, how about this: At the beginning of the game every player puts a set number of points (15-20 pts would be a good number for the 10 and under tables) into a side pot. Only the first place finisher will get these points. The catch is every round the points diminish by a number equal to the number of players left (-7 each round at the beginning and less as players get killed or flag).

This gives incentive for the person in first place to kill off the weaker players (to slow the rate of point loss). It also gives him incentive to win the game faster (to get as many points from the side pot as possible).

It may be with this scheme that the side points disappear completely before the game is won. So be it. The intention is that this is a bonus for winning quickly; not a given point award for first.

All other scoring stays in place as is (or as it gets changed from time to time).

i havent read all the above but i can confirm what some people think. this game has changed significantly. the old game was better in many ways. now for example, trucing just doesnt happen. trucing blows in many ways, especially if ur on the receiving end of it, but it also allows for a bit of banter.

flagging now also blows. unless u have a pga, you cant get to the end, total domination. everyone is just out to score points. and for what? who gives a crap about points? this game is about domination.

i find that the outcome of the game is decided in the first 3 rounds. after that, if you have 3 territories, theres just no point continuing. there used to be a point when u had a truce to play for. but now, i just jump ship and go to another table.

ninja flagging is when (in old kdice) you put up your flag and then stag for like three rounds. then come back and fight again.

Bring old k-dice back for fuck's sake
