I ran across two people today that made me realize the need to regulate the names and avatars used. First was "U f***ing suck!" and the second was "braydon". Allowing such coarse language, as in "U's" moniker, is offensive and completely inappropriate in a public forum like this game. Secondly, "braydon" has porno in his avatar. I don't care what these people do in their own time, but in an area where people of all ages take part, there needs to be some sort of approval, or at lease a way to report inappropriate content. I don't enjoy having that invade my otherwise clean and enjoyable gaming experience. It cheapens and sullies the image of the site and its developer as well.

Haha! Porno! HAHAHA!

Dude, I find your bald monkey more offensive than those two. To be honest, it frightens me somewhat.

I heard Ryan cusses sometimes..(Bad bad Ryan, BAD!)

Ps: I agree on the monkey case Tech. You obviously have a point there.

I know its Ryan's decision about this, but if he were to allow these kinds of avatars/usernames, then I would recommend some sort of "warning: adult content" disclaimer for when you sign up for an account.

Also, that one idea in the idea forums that calls for "avatar hiding" would be good in this case too.

I can understand both sides; ultimately its Ryan's decision, and whatever he decides is fine by me.

There is a difference between cussing and obscene avatars. My six-year-old daughter likes to "help" me play kdice, but obscene avatars have become common enough that I don't like letting her see when I am playing anymore.

Trust me, I'm quite aware. Lookit the locale, Texas. I just don't want them messing with the kdice experience.

That, and I want to see what kind of effect a comment like that has on a person.

Well, I think that you cant really stop people from creating accounts like that. But the community will probably react to it and make sure to them that you cant do that.

If it really gets out of hand, ryan can always block/ban them or something.

I agree Rven. I just use adblock when my daughter is around.

As for you, Tech, I'm not sure what you are getting at. Are you just trying to be classy?

I just wanted to see what would happen if I said that, rather than trying to convince you to get over the "zomg boobies" reaction.
