CD is right. Usually someone would announce I'm going for the 5v8 will you honor if I win? So that way everyone was on the same page and no one got their feelings butt hurt.

I am not "butt hurt" or anything. I am just stating that things have changed. On the one hand I win 5v8, on the other it doesn't have the same effect it had when I lost having the 8. I don't recall any announcements when I gave away that 2k... But then, I'm old and my memories might fail me. Summing it up, old times were better times - like all of us very old folks always say.
