Thrill Hoe, you say gray chat is toxic? What about your constant talking during the game to try to get people to not attack you? You use the chat more, and for the wrong reasons, than anyone else on this site, this isn't breaking news.. everyone knows this about you.

You can call it salt, or whatever when in the long run I simply stated facts. You cried after losing 1 rd and decided to ruin games (2-3 basing in some cases) just to be a douche and get "revenge" because and I quote "you were upset". LOL.

The less lifers like yourself on this site, the quicker it may actually grow a following.

Since we still pretend that there is a strategic aspect in this game, socializing is a major part of that strategy. Chatting to have others see the map you'd like it to be seen and draw the consequences you'd like to be acted upon is one of the main aspects of this game. Besides the ability to read the map and make silent agreements this is about all that seperates the good players from the bad ones.

Grey chat is vital to spread the news if you have stabbers, pga or alike at some tables. It enables the community to react to this missbehaviour and thus reduce its success.

There is no doubt that chat can be abused, but you can't generally judge that grey chat or a large amount of chat during a game is bad.

Getting back to the topic, giving hints to new players on how to read a map or understand a comment might make them feel welcome, understand the action better and maybe stay a little longer. You could give the (totally wrong) impression of this being a friendly community (where anybody being here for a little longer knows that this is the sink of human morals, ethics and friendliness).

LC is correct. The best way to grow the community is to educate newer players on what to look for. The problem is, in game, "newer" players get hammered for their play rather than helped. Especially by those who are playing to win. (use any 5k game this month as an example)

Unless you are grey and dont have an interest in the game outcome, but more of a guide to help people get better.
