Games like Agar.io that has tons of traffic you can use a user name randomly, use "kdice.com" as your name. Maybe only a few will come over from it, but its free publicity and not against TOS of the site/games.

Facebook, message boards (found this site in 2006 via a hockey message board in Calgary, Alberta so it does work), twitter, youtube videos are a big hit now.. someone willing to go on video, make a fool of himself for hits and traffic would be nice lol

PS: Or Ryan and staff of this site (and other 2 sister sites) could do ... you know, their job and come up with ways to grow up. When it comes down to the players try harder than the staff to build the site, the problem will never go away until corrected.

If you want new players, you need to first clean up some old players.

The tables just have such a toxic attitude where every idiot has a mouthpiece to spam whatever they want without consequence. I'll preface this entire post by acknowledging in my playing days I obviously contributed heavily to this culture.

First game back after 12 months I had Dude111 telling me he hopes I die IRL. I didn't let someone fight for 2nd in an obviously pointless battle and the result was 5 minutes of abuse followed by a forum post about how I should be banned.

What part of that is appealing to a new player? Forget about who it is directed at, that's how people interact on kdice all the time.

Why not just remove gray chat once the game had started? Do you really need trolls trying to chat pwn from the sidelines, or angry idiots spamming abuse because they weren't gifted the place they "deserved"? If nobody could read their bullshit their options are then to leave or to play at a different table.

It's funny Thrill hoe complains about Dude... this is the same douche who just PGE'd me for 2 rds for destroying him in rd 1 fairly. He surrounds me with a dumb connect and didn't expect me to take his pieces and then cried.

Thrill hoe is the guy who basically ruined kdice for years and is one of the big reasons players left in the past.

Perfect example. Nobody cares, the 10 mins of salt just made it hard for the players still in the tourney to get on with it. Grey chat is toxic. 90% of it is bickering and abuse.

Sort it out at the tables or move on.

THRILLHO in my opionion grey chat isn't toxic but for sure some mods can temp ban who have bad attitudes ...
i think the best move to have newbye stay and play is letting them get fun winning game when they are in good position instead to get banged by other ...a good thing can be to made all tables like jurgen after x time last player get resign to prevent 1 land guy win or get better than other

"a good thing can be to made all tables like jurgen after x time last player get resign to prevent 1 land guy win or get better than other"

Not sure if I understood you correctly, but if I do, I couldn't disagree more with this idea.

Tables with special rules like jurgen provide a nice, quick, casual game that many players seem to enjoy.

On the other hand, due to their very nature, they seem to lack the strategic depth and variety that other tables provide. Yes, that's a good reason why newbies might be more successful (and arguably happier) at these tables, but having both them and regular tables at the same time only makes the game more colourful.

If the players at any table are "bad" enough to let a guy with one land win than that's what they deserve.
