Hi everyone,
I came on as an Advisor recently after being here since 2006/2007 as a player. I've played on and off over time and a few of you might remember that in 2012 I ran some competitions for things like Most Kills in the month (this was before kill bonuses existed) and Highest Points from Tournaments Only (No Table Play) and the winner would get their Membership Paid for by myself. At the time I believe Ryan had numerous commitments and KDice wasn't at the top of the priority list; but he's been doing a lot of work on the backend lately ( https://trello.com/b/4dwgZaBz/iogc ) and part of things happening is myself coming on board as a sort of Community Manager / Advisor. I do have Moderation Tools and I can and will use them if needed but my primary concern is to run some fun challenges and tasks where you will get rewarded in various ways. One way will be Membership, another might be with a Points Boost, for example. What I need from you are some suggestions on what things you'd like to participate in to try and win these prizes (which will be announced when we announce the actual events selected and how they'll be entered). Examples which have been done before and may be used again are the 'Phoenix Challenge' - getting to say 20,000 points in a month then deliberately losing every point you have down to 0, then rising back up from the ashes. Another was Most Kills in a Month in Standard Games. Another was Highest Placed Player with 0 games played (you were DQ'ed if playing anything other than tournaments). These were all winner takes all but we're open to a Top 3 or Top 6 for some events and such, possibly special medals, possibly something really rare (as an example only, don't hold me to this: custom icons) for really hard to get things. Just let me know what you want to see actually played/as the goal and we'll work out a good incentive structure. at 9:33 PM, Thursday June 18, 2015 EDT just do highest ppg with no tourneys/memberships/boosts allowed. the winner will be the one who tables up fastest. add a qualifier that there must be at least 100 (50?) games played.

at 12:52 AM, Friday June 19, 2015 EDT As much as I think Alex ideas great (I wouldn't compete in the fewest words chatted challenge for sure though), there remains the idea of how you want to evaluate this at the end of the month. There is no chatlog stored anywhere (up to my knowledge). Please keep that in mind with the nice ideas coming up - you got to evaluate it at the end of the month when the top 100 are defined from the data (easily) available then.
And we are not even discussing on how to evaluate language skill... |

at 9:34 AM, Saturday June 20, 2015 EDT Right now the top 5 is Qazi Legend, 22 April, Rastaa Man, stakaboo, illest (for example lets say they were ranked like that midway - 15th June) if they drop out of the 5 spots after that day they lose their prize to the ones who can challenge them and changes the ladder. eg if rank 15 decides to climb up the ladder and knock the current players in top 5 (from the 15th June) their main mission is to race to top 5 and knock them out, then stay like that till the end of the month. Is any one confused? haha

Most "Killed", like theres a lot of people who are losing and give up there kills so other people can get more points, prize for whoever does the most of that in a month? |
